  1. I would do the test over again with OEM rims equipped with Porsche approved tyres, it can save you money and time.
  2. No Cayenne can remain parked five months without the help of a battery retainer or trickle charger, disconnecting the battery is another option but less interesting.
  3. Take a look behind the "Porsche Parts at Dealer Cost" on top of the page, they can help you out.
  4. The rear washer line usually will jump off the connector behind (above) the roof rear trim panel (the one with the interior light). Take a look while someone else activate the rear washer, water will drip off from the roof trim or in the cavities L and R in the trunk behind the removable trim.
  5. Once the silver button jumps off spontaneously, which indicate wear of the notches, should be replaced, is available separately.
  6. I have no diagram, but you have to dismantle the mirror front and rear shells, it takes some time and the parts are very brittle to work with.
  7. The gear indicator on the dash and on the shifter should be synchronized, 1) shift cable misaligned 2) one of the sensors inside the shifter lever mechanism disturbed or faulty. If your dealer can't fix it, go to an OPC.
  8. If you can play audio CD, use a well working NAVI CD from a friend or neighbor to check it out, your NAVI CD is probably damaged or unreadable. NAVI CD copies can destroy the PCM unit (if you are able to make one, despite the build in security's)
  9. MY 04 should have still PCM2, which is equipped with CD drive on top of the unit. PCM2.1 use DVD with the reader under the passenger seat (LHD)
  10. Is also no longer available Loren, at least to me.
  11. They help creates vacuum, and prevents air turbulence from the front wheels, for easier escape of hot air behind the radiators.
  12. If the hole in the driver side sleeve is OPEN, there should be a vacuum line connected. Unfortunately i have no 986 of any MY in my immediate surroundings for the moment, but take a look where the lines, coming from the fuel pressure regulators, on the end of the fuel rails go's. The problem is too many differences in MY, car equipments and country's.
  13. Glad you fix it, you can download a "Owners Manual" for your car by pressing the button DOCUMENTS on top of the page. Happy New Year.
  14. You will need a PIWIS diagnostic or similar tool to read out the fault codes which are stored in the control box memory, its possible to check the engine temp. directly from the DME etc.. Air conditioning system problem and faulty control box are also possible, without the codes its guessing.
  15. The battery is located in the front trunk, i cant honesty see a major difference between a Turbo and a Carrera on the front, concernig the emergency cable, turbo, extra pipes and inter-coolers are in the back.
  16. If the red led flashes, most of the time it ended up in a bad remote but you can give it a try with a new battery anyway.
  17. Its a normal behavior since the car is not equipped with a mechanical limited slip differential. The driven wheels cant spin if PSM is on, at least just a little till the system intervenes, they can try it but are hold by the brakes (ABS-PSM), take note that an electronically system cant replace a mechanical system, and act different. Concerning the tyre wear, there are several patterns of wear, shoulders, middle or full tread. If there is a difference in wear, over the FULL tread, between the left and right driven wheel, it means mostly brutal taken corners to the right or the left with a little spin, which the electronic version can not avoid before acting. Left tyre wear=left corner, right tyre wear=right corner, always the inner corner wheel. Hope it helps a little.
  18. There is no longer communication between the remote and the control box after a week or so, turn the key, in the lock, to the right while pushing the button, the remote should be adapted to the system again. If it doesn't work, you should search it in the remote.
  19. Use a good ground spot, and it should be working. You can also use a charger, or spare battery, if you use the cigarette lighter. I have no experience with RHD emergency cables, could be on the front left side in this case.
  20. The build in the tank fuel filters (MY 02>) return less fuel system covers Carrera/Boxster M96 engines. Turbo's still had the conventional system.
  21. Since he has removed the battery, goldgun, the charger trick is no longer applicable IMHO.
  22. There exist a list, concerning the maintenance intervals, it has to do with the fuel quality. Some countries, as North America and others, use minor fuel quality than West Europe, that's why they have changed the intervals, at least according to the memo.
  23. It's the residual vapour which comes out of the exhaust, a normal phenomenon under some circumstances (engine temp.-outside temp. and humidity) Filling gas should always done with the engine off, to prevent emission fault codes and not to confuse the control box (DME - actual consumption/engine running versus actual fuel tank contents while filling up)
  24. This method can help to get the creaking sound out of the moon roof unit, it take some time to do it but shows satisfactory results. Lower the head trim, loosen the nuts which hold the unit to the roof approx. two turns, spray gently some amount of grease between the unit and the roof, tighten the nuts and place back the head trim.
  25. Could it be an alarm issue ?
