  1. The best way to install is with the wheels off the ground, car on jack stands or lift. It's not so difficult but i do not know your options.
  2. Because the car shows code P0102 MAF, i would start with that and clear the rest.
  3. I would check the voltage output directly on the rear of the alternator, with a good voltmeter. Check the voltage also on the battery and note the difference between both results, they must been aprox. the same (1 volt difference is too much). Check also the ground between: alternator and engine - engine and car body - car body and battery, resistance in main power cable. These are the most common power load problems if the car is equipped with a GOOD battery, a GOOD alternator and regulator, occasionally the DME can be faulty, he controls the load via the thin blue wire on the alternator but is very rare, i think your US car is not using already this system but you never know. If you cant do it by yourself, bring your car to a car electrical specialist such as a BOSCH center.

  5. minny would be sure, in the first place, what exactly is happened. Replacing the total content of ATF, on the conventional way wont work, because the half of it remains in the converter and is not drain able without removing the gearbox.

If the engine cranks like there is no compression, than is the mean reason "sticking valves" 1) wrong oil viscosity, too thick in combination with cold outside temperatures (hydraulic lifters keeps the valves slightly open) 2) dirt and carbon on the valve stems (use a cleaner in the fuel for several tank fillings, ones you get the engine running)
  7. (5) Remove the fuel pump fuse, and it will be OK.
  8. Simple, the OEM one's. No problems with, decent product and acceptable priced.
  9. It depends on where the trans axle oil has been gained, ZF Tiptronic use trans axle oil in the differential part of the gearbox, but not 5 litre. If the trans axle oil is gained in the gear box/hydraulic bloc/torque converter/ATF oil cooler part of the Tiptronic, where usually the ATF oil must be filled, then the box should be removed, cleaned and inspected for wear. I can not imagine that this can happen in a (reputable) workshop. If i where you, i would drive the car no longer until everything is checked and corrected.
  10. Under warranty replaced PCM units are 99.9% rebuilds in Europe, will be the same in US.
  11. Take a look if it does not leak from between the cylinder head and the engine bloc (cyl. head gasket)
  12. You will need the actual fault codes to be sure what exactly is wrong, there were some workshop actions in the past concerning airbag problems, contact your dealer for the cost.
  13. You can find them in the front and rear, left and right wheel hub carriers.
  14. Probably one ore more faulty sensors, mainly the two extremes, above the exhaust pipes, there always remains mud hanging around. Do a check with a PIWIS or similar diagnostic tool first to be sure.

  16. The bolt shown in your pic needs a triple square allen key instead of Torx.
  17. If there is power on the system, a control of the switch is recommended.
  18. I would use alcohol free screen wash, to get no odor or fumes inside the car by the ventilation fan.
  19. It's not intended to discourage you, but most of the part the problem is inside the gearbox in case of a single gear issue.
  20. DME=Digitale Motor Elektronik=Control box. Cartography=by the manufacturer, adapted to the specific engine, programmed ignition, injection and many more contained inside the DME. The last manually adjustable flat 6 should be the "SC" series build in the seventies. I think that you probably meant the valve timing (crankshaft possition versus camshafts via timing chain), in this case i would, given the difficulty and risk, recommend a workshop manual.
  21. Golden has probably a Carrera M96 in mind instead of a Turbo, hence his explanation.
  22. Those are spoilers located on the front side of the rear wheels, bottom side of the wheel arch.
  23. I fear that the only option is to inspect if the belt is installed as it should, and check the rollers, alternator, water pump, air con. compressor and servo steering pump pulleys one by one for excessive play and noise.
  24. Excuse me to high jack this, if the connectors on the sensors have a different color, then the other half of the connectors (on the wiring) should have the same color, that's the way Porsche normaly works. Hope it helps.
