  1. @ goldenwarrior1, eventual fault codes and actual values, stored in the DME, and relating to the environment will be erased by disconnecting the battery. That's mostly the problem in environment test performing.
  2. My Aprilia RSV R super bike is flat black and is as you said, a disaster for (greasy) fingerprints after handling and crashed insects. Treat the stains with brake cleaner, wash with detergent and rinse with water mixed with some vinegar is the only solution to keep the bike nice and clean. Silicon spray, oily products, car wax, etc. should be kept miles away from the paint. In short, special but worthless paint for a (daily driven) car.
  3. If you have any info and in doubts, remove both antenna cables one by one with the radio on, it will be immediately clear which cable it is, there will be get out no longer music, but only noise.
  4. A fault code check and a read out of the "actual values" menu with a PIWIS or an equivalent (if it exists) diagnostic tool can provide results faster and cheaper than replacing parts randomly. A contaminated throttle body and LMM exhibit the same symptoms without the "check engine" lit. LMM (luftmassenmesser) you call it MAF
  5. Place the hood in service possition (see manual) - Remove the carpet under the rear of the hood - left and right are precut spots in the insulation/foam under the carpet and right above the struts - remove the precut insulation/foam parts.
  6. As far as i remember, it was sold as a complete set at that time.
  7. Are you sure if the battery is checked as it should? How many volt have you measured with the engine running? Since you have disconnected a fully charged battery, and the voltage drops till 11.5V on a disconnected battery, than it looks strange to me. Did i misunderstood or missed something?
  8. I would bleed the clutch hydraulic system first, the pedal should go up, strongly and with force, till the upper stop when released, without any play, only then you can check the switch possition correctly.
  9. Have you already checked he clutch pedal switch? Make a bridge and try again to start with.
  10. No, there are no pics available, since it was no "official" action, it was just a tip given on dealers with questions about the, from the production, non adjustable catcher. It is a very simple action with good result, it is unnecessary to possess a degree in mechanics to do this modification.
  11. For the owners of an older Cayenne (without retraction system): remove the back door catcher-create with a file elongated holes in the catcher ground plate, so you can pull/slide the catcher a few m.m. backwards-adjust the catcher so that the back door is free of noise and will close with normal force. Use normal headed stainless steel bolts instead of the OEM conical head bolts, install spring washers between the bolt heads and the catcher ground plate. You should never slam the back door anymore.
  12. Some DFI engines suffer with a water leak on the thermostat housing/piping, i would take a look in this area. What do you mean with "on top of pump leaking oil"? If you mean the dual function pump (power steering/hydraulic sway bar system), it's definitely not normal, no leak is normal.
  13. If you mean the small bulb, take a pair of pincers and pull out the holder, sometimes it's hard to pull out by slight deformation cause the bulb heat.
  14. Euro cars use secondary sensors since 03. Euro3 use only a pre cat. sensor, Euro4 use a pre and a second sensor and 2 cats on each cylinder bank, Euro5 use a pre and a second sensor, 2 cats on each cylinder bank and DFI engines. A little complicated but feasible.
  15. I do not know whether the car has EURO specs. or not. Recalibration is only needed, in some cases, on C4 and Turbo cars, in other words 4 wheel drive cars, at least for Euro. specs. cars. If so, i rather think of a mistake or failure during the installation of the unit.
  16. As said, both problem occurs, it's only a suggestion. Up to you, or a dealer, to find out where the leak is coming from.
  17. Secondary O2 sensors have to stay approx. stable at 0.6-0.7 V (depending the used type of sensors) into a good functional system, the best and fastest way to analyse, and to solve combustion problems, is to use the results of a 4 gas tester (HC-CO-CO2-O2) at idle and at 3K RPM in combination with the PIWIS. Diagnostic tools alone, are not always good enough to solve real combustion problems, the use of both tools and knowledge can provide the solution. This obviously applies to non modified engines.
  18. It's a sort of tapping noise, a little more pronounced than a valve lifter. Some Cayenne V8 owners known the noise and the result very well.
  19. If your dealer is unable to adjust a door/lock as it should, i would find an other dealer.
  20. You are correct, the high pressure circuit is powered by the steering pump (as assistance) and used the PENTOSIN fluid from the reservoir on the pump. The low pressure circuit use the same PENTOSIN fluid (IMPORTANT!!!) that are contained in a reservoir under the black trim, below the front windshield, left side of the car, and be bleed on the slave cylinder.
  21. Have you checked, as already mentioned, the cylinder head on porosity or a leaked cylinder head gasket? Both problems occurs on Turbo engines.
  22. It's recommended to read out the control boxes with a diagnostic tool first, a CEL light off does not mean that there are no codes stored in the control boxes. A possible error without codes, in case of lack of power in the lower RPM, are malfunctioning butterfly valves inside the black transverse intake tubes (between the L. and R. intake manifolds).
  23. Tucked between the cooling water tubes, engine left front side (rear side of the car) on the camshaft.
  24. No, 987 and 997 use no longer a dip stick (since 05)
  25. The key is that the rear wheels are free of pressure, other wise the rear sub frame will deform too much and than it become difficult to reinstall the plate.
