  1. The compressor remains in the car, it takes some fiddling to separate the compressor from the engine and back into place because some of the bolts are hard to reach.
  2. Pirelli Zero Corsa is not even approved by Porsche for street use, make at least a choice of tyre types which are approved before you goes on track. A good deal at first sight could be expensive at the end of the ride IMHO.

Older ZF Tiptronics have a selector switch on the side of the gearbox, if all cable adjustments are done and the linkages works smoothly and there are still problems as described, remove the more or less rectangle switch from the box, open the switch with a small drill bit and drill out the rivets. Inside you find several electric contact lines and a vane which slide over the lines according the selected lever mode. The switch contains an amount of grease which is hardened by age, clean everything thoroughly and put fresh grease on the contact lines and vane, put a small amount of silicon on both switch halves to prevent water infiltration, close the switch and screw it together with small screws and nuts which are commercially available. Check all functions after install. I did it more than once on the moon where no spare parts are available. The switch replaced by a new one is easier but more expensive. Succes.
  5. Most Porsche gearboxes suffers with that problem, it has something to do with synchro teeth usually opposite each other at standstill. Try this, press the clutch pedal in and move the gear lever from neutral into second gear, move the gear lever into first gear in one move without releasing the clutch pedal. The same problem occurs with the reverse gear. It should work fine that way, no risk for damage (money) and fast enough for street driving.
  6. Just in front of the driver seat (LHD car) right side under the carpet, there is the battery ground cable. You can disconnect the battery at that point. I cant help you concerning problems due by " Tuning " sorry.
  7. Here we go, the DME has reached its RICH threshold value (can NOT be MORE enriching) for both cylinder banks, which means that the engine runs TOO LEAN !!! Air leaks or MAF are plausible causes.
  8. If you got the sparks plug out and you see nothing specious on them, take a look with a bore-scope inside the cylinders and check for cylinder wall damage. Cylinder wall damage is a cause of ticking noise and a much darker tailpipe on one side.
  9. It is the German way to make the difference between the number O and the letter O in electric diagrams, terminal 38 does not exist on such relay, according DIN standards.
  10. That sometimes occurs, you will still be looking, in first place, into the suggestions already given. Waste gates + actuators + controllers, connections, wiring's and tubing's, idem for the diverter valves, leaking inter-coolers, etc. Check also the intake pressure sensor values. If the car ran well before, the occurred problems are in first place installation related (created) IMHO. Success.
  11. Caster is not adjustable on 987, 987C, 997, 997S and 997Turbo. Hope it helps.
  12. Loren probably meant the turbo bypass valves on the intake pressure circuit, called diverter valves, on top and rear of the engine. You probably meant the waste gate on the turbo itself, exhaust side, valve that discharges exhaust gases directly in to the exhaust at maximum boost pressure. This is an important difference in approach.
  13. If used carefully and in small quantities, it may not hurt.
  14. Probably the locks on the plastic bolts are already broken off, but this poses no problem. Pull them strait out, remove the clamps L & R on the belows near the MAF sensors, remove the small rubber tube at the bottom of the black metal intake tube, remove the pressure sensor connector on the intake tube, pull the intake tube off the throttle body, pull the tube out of the bellows L & R, place the tube out of the way, check the O-ring on damage (inside the tube>throttle body side). The throttle body is reachable for cleaning. It works easier with the plastic trim above the radiators removed. Hope it helps.

  16. If you can feel the ticking in the pedal when you put your hand gently on it, there could be something wrong with the replaced clutch/flywheel assy.
  17. Is the car parked on a flat level floor or at an angle to the right? The smoking drivers tail pipe belongs to the right cylinder bank.
  18. It will take less time to connect your Durametric tool to the system and note the codes than just put a message on the net, i would start with that first. Once you have the codes, we can continue.
  19. As far as i know Porsche makes such parts not separately, not for C4 and not for Cayenne. The link in your post is a third party, if you cant find that part on the third party market, a visit to a dismantler can help you out IMHO.
  20. You need the actual values and fault codes, if present. There are several possibilities as outside temp. sensor, inside temp. sensor, actuators, etc. A PIWIS diagnostic tool should be a great help.
  21. If you have disconnected the throttle body completely and/or his connectors, the fault is likely there.
  22. Access through the trunk, inside the seal, under the black plastic rectangular cover on top of the cupboard.
  23. Looks like you are talking about a C4, in this case the pump access is in front of the battery, in the cupboard last part of the front trunk.
  24. I suspect something with the startmotor gear and/or starting ring gear on the flywheel, maybe due to damage from the defective ignition switch.
  25. You mix the issues together: a faulty brake switch can cause an ABS/PSM error, a faulty throttle body can cause an ABS/PSM error, a faulty MAF can cause an ABS/PSM error, also the wiring's, connectors, ABS control box/unit and many more. On the other hand an ABS/PSM problem cant give a MAF, throttle body or brake switch error.
