  1. The fittings are all the same, bring the switch in the good position with a little bit of grease to the contact area and turn 90 degrees ( to the left or to the right it's the same ). The switch body color most by the same, brown for the brake pedal and red for the clutch pedal.

  3. A faulty in the lock mechanism built in switch is most common.
  4. Firing order 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8 change all the coils, can be necessary.

  9. I think there is / was a TB for the clock problem in combination with the PCM, there is a good chance that the switch is faulty.
  10. alexsee do you have a sport exhaust? There are a lot with a vibration inside the muffler.
  11. The MAF fixation for Cayenne and 987 is different thy use no longer Torx screws = 6 points star, but practically the same design with 5 points star. If you want to swap them for a test take the complete unit. vizcarra44 can by right if it is a common problem on US cars. Concerning the misfire codes watch the coils for cracking. Success
  12. Motor mount problems on a 996 are not common, thy can start leaking when you lift up the car using the engine oilpan as a jacking point.
  13. No problem after reprogramming the PCM.
  14. The cam sensors are on the cylinder heads in the environment of the coils, trace the wiring and clean the connectors, the rest is a dealer job.
  15. The MAF's are located in the intake pipes just behind the radiators. The fuel filter supply both banks, this is not the reason i guess.
  16. Probably the MAF sensor, you can switch the sensors from the left to the right completely to be sure. Clear the fault codes first.
  17. Both sensors defectif is uncommon, clear the fault codes and try again.
  18. Are you sure if the switch replacement is done correctly?
  19. You need to remove the front shield on a turbo, one horn is located on the left front and one on the right. It's better to replace both horns, thy go's bad if you don't use them once a day.
  20. The engine bay environement temp. sensor is on the plenium ( to ventilate by the fan on the right side ). Do you have a picture?
  21. The cluster and the DME use the same temp.sensor, the cluster values looks OK what means that the sensor is not the cause. Make a bridge with a single wire from the sensor to the pin on the DME and read the values again, if they are approx. the same as the cluster there most by something wrong with the wiring ( corrosion on a pin or a junction ).I'm sorry i have no electric diagram to show. Loren can help you whit that. As wvicary wrote the intake air temp. sensor is part of the MAF, you did a replacement 7K miles ago, with a new one? the same part number? Take a spare MAF and try to use a PIWIS tester to read the values again to by sure, if thy are all still negative i'm afraid you will arrive to the DME.
  22. Hi I have some questions: the car showed 180 - Fahrenheit i guess the coolant temp was showing 38-41 C - what means Celsius Are you sure if the tester is compatible with the car ?
  23. Hi Remove the under plate ( one screw in the middle under the glove box lid ) and disconnect the connectors from the interior light and the adaptors. Pull off the edge on the dashboard on top of the lid. Remove all the screws on the front and bottom, inclusive the lock. Push the glove box a little to the bottom and remove the glove box light connector and the tube coming from the air conditioning. Pull out the glove box complete with the lock. Have fun, it's easy
  24. The problem in the Nord European country's are the taxes, for the same price you can buy a new Cayenne turbo + a new 987 in the US taxes inclusive, he only can buy a V6.
