  1. Under the right black plastic cover in front of the wipers ( interior filter area )
  2. Dark grey is the best match with the climate here.
  3. Manny thanks White, i note down these, we are never too old to learn.
  4. We call that start cables, i don't no in English. It consurns a set of cables, 1 red and 1 black, sold in auto stores to connect a spare battery with the car battery to start up. Connecting poss. cable with neg. cable is the ultimate manner to reset all control boxes, with the battery REMOVED to prevent you for accidents.
  5. Fresh oil have to be in the engine not upon the engine certainly not at this area, so there must by a leak somewhere. In case of leaking crankshaft seal the entire area is besmear with oil, not only one side. This is my experience.
  6. Is it possible to start the car after charging and without a booster ? You have to be sure concern the battery condition, 100% is the reference. If yes, try this: Note the code for the radio or PCM Disconnect the negative cable from the battery Disconnect the positive cable from the battery To preserve for accidents - remove the battery Connect the negative and positive cable with each other by using a start cable for 15 minutes Install the battery Connect the positive cable to the battery Connect the negative cable to the battery Do the learning process for the windows Insert the code for the radio or PCM Hope this help.

  9. White We use 5w-50 Mobil 1 in all turbo's inclusive Cayenne Turbo S, GT2 and GT3 to reduce oil consumption with excellent result.
  10. 987 and 986 front bumpers are not interchangeable, you can always change the full nose.
  11. Crankshaft seal - small amount of oil visible Intermediate shaft seal - small amount of oil visible Engine housing, flywheel area complete - very small amount of oil visible Cyl. bank 2 - AOS area - bellows looks renewed cyl. bloc - cyl. head and black crossbeam looks more oily than the rest Cyl. bank 1 - OK My opinion is, the major oil leak looks elsewhere.
  12. He mains the strip on the outside handle, Loren item 3, you cant see it on the illustration, is not for sale separately part of the handle. Perhaps second hand somewhere, it's screwed with a very small Philips screw.
  13. Drill a 4mm hole in the seal just where the points are, take a long philips screw and screw in half way, take pliers and pull the seal out. If you do it this way you cant destroy the crankshaft or the crankcase. You need special tools to install the new design seal, the seal sits deeper than the old one. There are 7 bolts to change, 3 x intermediate shaft ( do it one by one after you have drained the engine oil ) one above the crankshaft, one below the crankshaft and two on the bottom of the crankcase ( the dirty ones ) all M6. The new bolts have torx heads and are treated with product. You got also oil leaks in the AOS area i think.
  14. As long as you stay in the working range of the sensors there will be no problem.
  15. Carbon filtered vent. system means that the cabin filter is treated, you have always the option to install the paper cabin filter which is cheaper, it's your choice.

    996 GT3 Oil Change

There are two drain plugs, one on the tank and one on the left side of the engine crank case. After a long time of stand stil a part of the oil flows back in to the crank case, this is the reason for the small amount of oil you spot. You have to remove both drain plugs.
  17. Great to hear that!
  18. Take a look to the mechanism on the right side of the gear box when a helper do the shifts of all the gears, it can happen that both mecanismes hit each other or the gear box case, rather than a misadjustment of the cables because the 3 gear shift looks O.K. Replacement of the transmission oil is a good idea too. Installation of a short shifter makes your problem on the contrary rougher.
  19. You always can check the power steering level and the possition - state of the front engine mount, the silent block have to sit straight in the middle of the mount and free of cracks.
  20. TAndujar Go to your dealer for a fuel tank level recalibration.
  21. I suggest to replace all the coils for a good working engine regardless the other problems. Do what Pop recommend in his post to start with.
  22. The oil pressure looks good to me, it depends the engine temperature, 2 bar @ idle when hot is not bad. For the other points, if i was you, contact an automobile expert for expertise the car and send a copy of his report with a copy of the bill-invoice and your personal complaints to Porsche import Ireland to consider and observe the procession of this for you inaccessible situation. Success.
  23. Unknown is even with PIWIS unknown, clear them and wait for real fault codes. Unknown codes can appears even from outside signals, high tension cables or radio signals.
  24. 60 USD for a rebuild starter motor? It concerns the hour rate a guess, what about the spare parts? Can i immigrate to the states or i'm i to old?
  25. The handle is fixated with two nuts on the inside of the door and by the connector lock-- handle, pull the black plastic part of the connector to the back and than downwards to separate, loose the two nuts and pull the handle out. The outside door handle is twin piece made, the painted handle + plate and the blank metal back plate with the cylinder lock and extension. The back plate and the cylinder lock is a one piece construction.
