  1. Replace the longerons ( with the uni ball ) left and right on the rear axle and your problem is solved on the rear, the front axle ones have an other design and are shorter, start with the rear ones.
  2. Do you mean with "too short" used ( cam hardness base breakthrough ). This is a very uncommon issue, don't think that you can find a lot of info about that on Porsche forums.
  3. Check the inside door handle cables, one of them is not in the good possition ( tightness ), the door lock have not reached the end possition. A diagnostic tool can help you out with fault codes and sensor positions.
  4. The seal is not showed ( behind the torque converter ) If it is the seal, remove the engine and the transmission as a unit out of the car and separate, remove the torque converter and change the seal. The seal cost is just a couple of €, the oil a little bit more and the labor a lot more.
  5. RMS=rear main seal ( crankshaft rear ). The illustrated gearbox is not a Tiptronic.
  6. Take a look under the car, aside the transmission is the mechanism for the gear shift located, and is made in two pieces ( one for each cable ). Let a helper in the car actuate the shift lever and watch the mechanism, they can hit each other or the transmission case when bend.
  7. Leaking seal behind the torque converter of the Mercedes-Benz tiptronic is most common. The turbo engine gives no RMS problem. Remove both rubber plugs between the tip. and the engine ( bottom side ) and go with your finger in the hole, in the direction of the tip. and you can feel the oil in the converter case.
  8. I forgot to mention, set the clock for West-Europe DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME and BERLIN + 1 ( not for UK )
  9. Go in the PIWIS menu PCM and change the coding to the country in Europe of your choice ( f.ex. Germany ) to receive the best European radio frequencies. Same for NAVI and you need European CD/DVD as well. I'm not sure if you can use the telephone, the frequency is different and the phone box under the passenger seat cant communicate in Europe, i think!! If it will work you need a SIM card, small problem, SIM cards sold in phone stores are pay & go and works mostly only in the country of purchase. In other words could be a problem to have a call to the US. It is recommended to do conversion as short in time as possible before you leave your country.
  10. Yes, change the coding.
  11. Engine compartment fan 997 : depends on VIN # fan high speed fuse get replaced by a blind one, or DME reprogramming ( action W 737 )
  12. You need a PIWIS to examine KESSY system and to read out/clear fault codes.
  13. Use Porsche recommended tyres, always a smart choice.
  14. Introducing air in a hydraulic system is not a hack but rather a stupidity, in contrary it is a must to have all the air out of the system. The clutch is worn out if the biting point is to high, al you have to do is a clutch replacement.
  15. Look out with that sort of crap Richard, you never know what it can provoke with the control boxes. If it is a Durametric product you can talk with this guys, but in this case....!!
  16. The dealer or some one else with a PIWIS tester can change the door auto lock settings.
  17. Great to hear that, enjoy!!
  18. It is normal that the led's stay on, they go's out as you say after locking the car. You have always to lock the car to give time the control boxes to get in sleep mode, if not the battery is empty in a couple of hours.
  19. Since the engine will crank and not fire, i should go for the relays ( DME - fuel pump, etc. )
  20. Removal from the top of the engine is the most easy way to do, there is also access from the bottom if you have a lift.
  21. Dealer and PIWIS can help you out.
  22. Controls the map and compass. If the setting is OK ( navi fix is canceled ) go back to FACTORY SETTINGS and do a test drive, if the problem still occurs go to the dealer to check with the PIWIS tester. You have to know that the arrow disappears if you are on the highway for more than 20 Km ( same road ) turns or straight ahead, this a normal phenomenon.
  23. Take a look in the menu, till you find the setting NAVI FIX, cancel this. There is a chance that the module jumps to navi fix.
  24. Antenna? Check for received satellites quantity when it happens.
