  1. Lock the door with the remote or manual, simply closing the door without locking could be a source of power drain. The alarm control box sleeping mode is not activated. The testing condition for power drain is as mentioned and the values are in AMP. not in VOLT ( all values above 0,05 amp are critical ) and after approx. 20 minutes. Hope it helps.
  2. If your car is equipped with a manual gearbox, let the engine in place and remove the gearbox. You can easy replace all the items you mention in your post.
  3. Check DME and fuel pump relay for proper fitment and good efficacy, located above the fuse box.
  4. You can't shut off the radio separately, what you can do is increase the navi. voice volume and decrease the radio volume in the PCM menu. Take note that if you do this and someone else drives your car with the radio on, and the navi. comes in ..... the voice blows his head off.
  5. If you mean that the starter makes an " elephant noise " like some forum members call, when the engine is fired up and you leave the key then you got a starter problem. The labour depends on the mechanic experience and is approx. 1 hour.
  6. Drive link menus on diagnostic tools are not able to change programmings permanently, i have no idea where the status is showed on Durametric, can't help.
  7. 997 / 987 front fenders are definitely not always on with the air conditioning on, they works only when needed, this is the difference with 996 / 986.
  8. One of the reasons is the more and more sharply pollution norm ( noise ) in Germany, same for the 997 PSE which is DME controlled now.
  9. The 3 bolts are the camber adjustment, they have mostly a different possition L/R, if the alignment is done correctly ( inclusive full fuel tank ) there is nothing to worry about.
  10. Fault codes are crucial, read out the memory and note the codes.
  11. The locking stick is probably blocked by the manual emergency opening system. Pull out the guide and push the manual connection on the stick backwards with a small screwdriver, apply a small amount of grease on the stick and reinstall the guide, check for good working.
  12. If the coolant level is too low, check the water pump as well.
  13. The little box prevents resonance on different throttle openings.
  14. Targa 996 is different in detail than Targa 997. 996 is cabrio ( convertible ) based, 997 is coupe based.
  15. Probably a faulty remote, it's not unusual.
  16. This is normal, cold rainwater condense on the hot radiator, vapour rise and leave the bumper via the vent on top. Don't worry about that.
  17. Replacing the serpentine belt at 144.000 Km. sounds logic to me.
  18. Meldung timeout ...... steuergeraed = Message timeout ..... control box. Versorgungsspannung klemme 50 = Voltage on terminal 50.
  19. You are ready to install a new hand brake lever.
  20. Check if the window lowers approx. 1.5 cm. when the door handle is activated (inside and outside ) to open the door. The upper edge of the window have to be completely free of the soft top.
  21. Most often is a bad regulator, located in the fan housing area at the back of the glove box and easy to replace. If you got the chance swap him with an other one to check it out.
  22. If your car is a 987/997 let check on fault codes, big chance that one fan is out.
  23. Double honk means: alarm system faulty. Let check for fault codes, it is to complicated for guessing.
  24. Shiftlock cable needs to be adjusted.
  25. Let the dealer check the DME program and modify if necessary.
