  1. Look out Loren, Cayenne V8 > 06 ( 07 doesnt exist ) Cayenne V8 < 08 DFI use different oil filters, O ring is not including with 08. The location is approx. the same.
  2. The switch on a ZF tiptronic is located on the transmission case ( not on the lever ). The adjustment of the gear cable is on the lever.
  3. The airco service machine will do the complete job, recycling-vacuum-oil-recharging. All you have to do is report the service men that both condensers are new, he knows the amount and the type of oil for R134a. The system contains 0,900gr. refrigerant.
  4. 986 tiptronic gear switch is located on the gearbox, access is easy.
  5. jpflip Good luck! :wrench:
  6. Your situation is not unique, this things comes off more than often.
  7. I use non chlorinated also, chlorinated is forbidden by law here.
  8. #2 is out of the question, use down hill the same gear as up hill with brake assist when necessary IMHO.
  9. It is recommended to clean the Porsche original rotors with brake cleaner before installing.
  10. Something in co relation with the DME, only for MY 05. MY06 have got a DME reprogram for the same reason ( 05 and 06 DME are different. )
  11. It is fuse Row D number 2, they have put a blind one in and a new little manual in the fuse box. The campaign is more than 6 month old ( elimin. high speed engine room fan )
  12. Let take the vehicle handover procedure and coding again, even twice or more if necessary.
  13. Before starting the rebuild job, check if the parts are available, it can save you a lot of work and disappointment.
  14. There is no calibration needed when the car ran out of fuel: fill up the tank till full, after a dead battery: fill up the tank till full, and by a fuel pump replacement you got even nothing to do. Calibration is needed by fuel tank replacement, fuel sender replacement and instrument cluster replacement to be sure. Lift the sender arm and look if the gauge go's up to check the system, take care that the arm can move free while installing the unit ( the arm can get stuck behind the fuel lines easily )
  15. They comes probably by foot, unbelievable that Porsche US have no stock, the struts are available here not in BO.
  16. I agree with wvicary, that's the question.
  17. Buy a new MAF, cleaning is only in some cases useful bud always temporary, most of the time the fault will come back.
  18. The lift points you mentioned are used for : a) garage jack B) garage lift. Never use the sub frames for jacking ( the ones with a bolt in the middle )
  19. Pull of the engine cover first, on the left side of the intake manifold you find the resonance chamber, on the front and on the rear of the chamber is a circular cover ( the rear one contains the vacuum actuator ). Between this two covers sits the roll, check for play on the rear side ( shake the roll up and down ) after disconnecting the vacuum actuator.
  20. Your dealer probably "forgot" to read out the old control box in the menu Key transfer, and read in the new control box.
  21. I should replace the complete AOS if i was you, since your car is MY 99. Most part of AOS are already dead at that age.
  22. There is only one motor in 986, you mean the transmission box i think, there is definitely something wrong with the transmission cable on the left side. Ask or PM member Maurice for further instructions, he have a good insight in 986 soft top problems.
  23. The warranty period is two years, you can remove and replace the unit as DIY, i don't no what your knowledge is with radio/CD units to repair them. The costs are different Europe/US, try to find a US price list.
  24. All the TT, Cayenne Turbo, GT2 and GT3 engines are filled up with Mobil 5W-50 over here, to reduce oil consumption with good results.
  25. Look also if the black plastic "catcher" is still on the fuel door.
