  1. A heated steering wheel needs a reprogram and accession to the systems with PIWIS tool.
  2. Are all the tools still in place in the front trunk tool box or in the rooms with lid, under the plastic trim in the battery area ?
  3. Just at idle is recommended, the engine room can be sprayed with oil and smoke coming from the removed AOS tube.
  4. The ground point under the carpet, front right side of the driver seat is sufficient.
  5. Don't forget to do a alignment, with full fuel tank, after replacing the joint.
  6. Introduction of VarioCam Plus (with variable valve lift) : Cayman S 3.4 litre (M97/21) MY 2006 DME 7.8 40 LSF (Europe)
  7. Black plastic tube, diameter approx. 2 cm, left side behind the throttle body. Plug up the open hole and let the tube ganging freely in the engine room. The tube is the vacuum line from the manifold to the AOS, the AOS is inactive with the tube removed. If the engine idle normal in this condition and the DME actual values returns to normal, the AOS is faulty (vacuum loss = air leak)

  9. Remove the black plastic AOS tube from the throttle body, plug up the hole in the throttle body, let the engine idling. If the engine idling smoothly like it's should now, be sure the fault is in the AOS or bellows.
  10. All the fuses are in the designated fuse boxes (see owners manual) except 1 fuse on the rear of the radio/PCM and 1 on the rear of the alarm control box, there are no further OEM fuses hanging around in the car.
  11. Are the rubber seals reinstalled in the top longitudinal groove of the racks ?

It's difficult to diagnose the problem without a reader, but most of the errors after a spark plug replacement are not well checked spark plug gaps (one of the 3 mass electrodes too close or against the central electrode), not well checked coils (fine cracks) and coil connectors (bad contact).
  13. Check the V on the alternator output engine idling (in DC never in AC) - check the V on the battery engine idling - what's the difference, if there is any bigger than approx. 0.4 V - check the grounds - check the V drop while activating the starter (may not be less than approx. 11.5V for good response)

  15. Joost It's a very bad idea removing the battery poles (or the battery) with the engine running, the operative power peaks can destroy the alternator or diode bridges.
  16. What do you mean with "inner tie rod"? Do you have a pic/exploded view of the part ? Would be much easier to help you out.
  17. Use the board search function "intermediate shaft" lots of info here to start with, you can use "google" also.
  18. 987 speedometer limited at 280 Km/h - 997 speedometer limited at 330 Km/h, RPM and fuel/temp have the same lay out, would possibly fit.
  19. 2006 Carrera's have a non bolted filter housing that just pulls out. Remove the MAF connector, valve connector and plastic tube on the right rear of the housing (depending engine type), the rubber intake tube from the throttle housing and pull out the oil filler tube. Pull out the filter housing.
  20. If your car is a MY 2005 (VIN) than you have a big chance to enter in to the club of "intermediate shaft" victims. Porsche is generous in replacement engines for MY 05, contact them via OPC. Good luck.
  21. Brake fluid must at certain times be changed due the hygroscopic properties of the fluid, and thus a lower boiling point.
  22. Looks like a ground problem, check the bulb fittings and the connector on the rear of the unit for proper fitting and corrosion first.
  23. The sensor is located in the strut/track arm area, it's a sensor with a lever system. Most common cause is a badly corroded connector, sometimes a loose lever.
  24. Probably the electric motor which is practically worn IMHO.
  25. I was told epoxy a couple of years ago, by an employee of a wood finish manufacturer, but i cant say it for sure.
