  1. The light units on the Ebay site are not OEM, fully red colored tail lights are taboo in Europe and not salable.
  2. I am afraid that it not will work Richard, Belgian MY 05 sunroof and cabrio are not linked with the comfort function on the remote, from MY06 the cabrio will work. Sometimes they take strange and unexplained decisions towards equipment level. Enjoy the new ride.
  3. Except the difference in color red/amber, the unit will have the same construction and connections.
  4. The cigarette lighter is the best and easiest way to go IMHO.
  5. A cracked pressure plate is not uncommon, you will have to remove the transmission and pressure plate to take a look at this.
  6. Have you checked out if the oil return pipe of the mentioned turbo is completely free of burned oil residues?
  7. Yes i have seen this before on 996, mostly with damaged timing chains as result, which blows a hole in the valve cover. Is the engine still the original one? If yes, i would insist to give a factory rebuild engine in warranty since the car is a famous MY 2005, a problem would be the milage but i would go for it anyway. The best of luck.
  8. The limits 50mph and no more than 50 miles covers the mechanical stress on the front/rear differentials, not the tyre life time.
  9. The small yellow connector on the rear side of the airbag is the one you need, disconnect the battery first and wait for 5 minutes before removing the airbag.
  10. Sounds like a empty valve lifter after several months of inactivity. Let the engine idling for 30 minutes or so, the ticking sound should go away, do an oil change to make more progress to the process.
  11. The sensor on top of the engine is the "Engine compartment temperature sensor" The engine temperature sensor is located approx. in the middle, lower front side of the engine (behind the firewall 986). 140° F = 60° C is too low in the conditions as mentioned in your post. Since the fault code P0115 refers to a implausible signal and the gauge shows only 140° F, i would (let) inspect the wiring, sensor and thermostat first, and in that order.
  12. An oil change should be done on a, as close as possible, flat surface (floor) or a lift. It's not possible to drain all the engine oil with the rear of the car up.
  13. The break in procedure of a rebuild is the same as a new engine, instructions are indicated in the owners manual. The odometer and DME remains untouched.
  14. I would take a look behind the trim under the trunk latch to start with.
  15. N coded tyres have stiffer side walls than the same non coded tyres, easily perceptible at the higher wall/threat ratio, for example 987 OEM 17" rear tyres.
  16. The rubber lace prevents for excessive wind noise when the system is installed on the car without charge (in fact a Cayenne problem). Slide out the rubber with charge on top and place it back without charge.
  17. Porsche approved and coded tyres have a rotation direction and/or inside-outside indication and can not be rotated left/right, beside that the front and rear tyres have different dimensions and can not be rotated front-rear as well.
  18. Try a reprogram and notification in to the system also before you perform a cluster replacement.
  19. The left and right turbo have a different lubrication system design, the left turbo oil return pipe will partial clogged faster than the right side by his specific design. All Cayenne turbo suffers with this problem at approx. 80.000Km, clean the oil lines first before any possible turbo replacement take place.
  20. You will receive a factory rebuild (A.T.) and up dated engine with 2 years warranty, so it should go. Best of luck.
  21. I would check the small electric connector on the start motor for proper fitment and looseness of the small nut also.
  22. The difference in spoiler height is definitely a engineered item (wind flow), esthetic is not the first concern on high speed IMHO.
  23. Agree with Loren, it is still in the standards. Tighten the clamps a little, it will bring progress.
  24. The turbo charge pressure will slightly increase with decreased back pressure (mufflers and cats removed).
