  1. Probably something wrong with the poly V-belt, rollers, water pump alternator, etc. I would take a look behind the inspection plate in fire wall to start with, and don't drive or start the car to prevent more expensive damage.
  2. Maybe it would be interesting, if you post the relevant codes. It remains a mystery without the codes.
  3. Cayenne's will not work on LPG, not mechanically (valve problems etc.) and not electronically (disturbing and fault codes randomly), a real goldmine for the workshops because the warranty expires.
  4. This double action switches are indeed very fragile inside.
  5. You can find the broken part mostly in the thermostat housing, besides the pump. Remove the thermostat and keep the new pump apart, for better access in that part of the engine. A new thermostat housing gasket is needed.
  6. Check the engine for air leaks, since the car shows fault codes for both cylinder banks, you have to check the central part of the intake/breading system: AOS - bellows AOS - oil filler tube - oil filler cap+gasket - all vacuum tubes big and small, inclusive brake booster - intake manifold rubber connecting tubes - etc. Good hunting.
  7. The CEL should be on if it is the case, the engine should run very rough on idle with this issue on one cylinder bank, the engine cuts off with this issue on both cylinder banks. I'm pretty sure this issue was solved 10 months ago.
  8. The outside mirror need to be removed as well, and a lot of silicone spray is needed to get the seal, in the mirror area, in place. The mirror part of the seal is the point to start with.
  9. Most part of the sun/sliding leaks be caused by the rear connection/attach of the drain system on the roof unit it self, You have to lower the rear part of the roof trim to check this out.
  10. The Cayenne interior light unit and buttons are a well known issue, there is a repair set available to solve the problem.
  11. I would replace the brake fluid, and rinse the system out at the same time to start with, you never know what the result will be. Unfortunately, for a good result you need a PIWIS tester or PST 2.
  12. Porsche 4 wheel alignments are calculated with FULL fuel tank and NOBODY in the car, the standard specifications are not always feasible with modified suspensions, compromises have to find if it is the case.
  13. The CD player BUILD IN the PCM is a well known source of problems as you describes.
  14. lotecredneck, this is normal behaviour (environment program) for Tiptronic S, the higher RPM's will heat up the Lambda (oxygen) sensors quicker.
  15. Tiptronic is not programmable to start out in 1st gear all of the time, there are some options: 1) in auto mode, floor the accelerator, the Tip. should shift in 1st. 2) use the steering wheel buttons to shift in 1st while the Tip. is in auto mode, (2005 Tiptronic S) you have to use the buttons to shift up (Tip. returns back to auto mode within 8 seconds) 3) use the manual mode.
  16. Check the "Home link" website for better info and clarification.
  17. Perhaps a stupid question, but have you already checked the fuse connection ? (fuse on the PCM unit)
  18. Brake switch, MAF and throttle body affect ABS and TC.
  19. There must be a little screw on the bottom side of the seat to hold the cover in place.
  20. 1) The front sensor wiring has a weak point when the wheels are hanging free on the suspension, the INSIDE wiring will break between the attachment grommet, (on the shock absorber) and the wheel well cause the infinitely many up and downwards movements of the wheels during the years of driving. 2) Check the brake switch. 3) Check the MAF.
  21. All the factory rebuild engines MY 2006 > have the latest updates and are very reliable, you can count on your fingers the broken M 96/97 engines since MY 2006.
  22. Do what wvicary suggest, a water cooled alternator replacement on a Cayenne Turbo is not a joke. All the front radiators and fans, right wheel, inner wheel well, right turbo tubes and air filter housing should be removed. The right side of the engine should be lifted up as well to slide out the alternator via the right wheel well. All the alternators (Cayenne Turbo and S) i have replaced had the same noise as a worn out water pump, which was produced by the alternator build in water pump. Hope it helps.
  23. 97boxsterred The thermostat housing, inclusive temperature sensor is located on the rear/left of the engine (V6).
  24. Take the car outside and the PCM MANUAL on your knees: Check the quantity of received satellites - Check in the menu's if the navi. auto-lock is ON or OFF/SHOULD be OFF - Go back to FACTORY SETTINGS - Try again. If you got no PCM manual, download one here
