  1. The car is a MY 2005, no problem don't worry, you will receive a factory rebuild unit for free, it's a more than well known issue.
  2. The Pentosin hydraulic fluid, which is responsible for the clutch activation via clutch master and slave cylinder, is located in the front on the left side, near the battery, under the plastic trim. The Pentosin fluid which is responsible for the servo assistance, is located in the power steering reservoir. These have two different functions, the problem you mentioned, have probably to do with a leak in the master and/or slave cylinder or lines/connectors. Check the reservoir in the front.
  3. Was this morning in the Porsche workshop and took a closer look concerning your problem, the selector lever indicator on the dash lights up, in all the positions P R etc., controlled by the gearbox switch, the gears 1 2 3 4 5 and manual possition, in contrary stays out, controlled by the control box. They told my about some faulty Tiptronic control boxes, which they have changed out. Hope it helps.
  4. PIWIS (orig. Porsche diagnostic tool) or Durametric can help you out.
  5. Agree with fasterjames, cooling down phenomenon, perfectly simulated of the former air coolers.
  6. Not K&N for me, a genuine filter element replacement should be carried out every 40.000 Km, which is normally spoken more than one year.
  7. 1/ PIWIS have " Fault finding program " and "Electrical diagram " as features, use that to find out what's wrong. 2/ Yes.
  8. OEM Litronic will fit without problems on the Halogen connector/wiring, just plug and play.
  9. Probably a beginning starter motor fail, a rebuild or repair will give the most satisfaction on long term. You can try to lubricate the starter driving gear and axle, without any guaranty, you have to remove the starter in all cases.
  10. Just pull the trim gently off, starting left or right side lower corner.
  11. Sorry correction, far left under the wiper mechanism and far right under the interior filter.
  12. There was a service action for 997 MY 05 about a year ago concerning water integration in the inner foot well area, left behind the fuse box and in the same right side area (wiring and connectors). Also on the plastic covers, located in the battery room, far left under the interior filter and far right under the wiper mechanism, the gateway + connector is attached on the bottom of the cover right and could be corroded, i would take a look to be sure.
  13. Agree with wvicary, the battery is build in the alarm siren.
  14. Depends on the location where you live, you local phone company should give you more information. Most used system, over here, is a dual SIM card. The mobile and PCM (both GSM) use 2 cards with the same phone #, for a slight higher price than a solo card. The downside is, one of the two devices should be cut off, it doesn't work with both on.
  15. Those who use a steel hammer to tap on a light alloy carrier (or othe part), are not mechanics but demolition contractors, i may hope that nobody will follow this example.
  16. It's not a cover, it's a complete scavenge pump. Micro encapsulated means treated with sealing and/or locking agent.
  17. Minimum power consumption be achieved with the doors locked by the remote control, remove the detector power lead also during long term parking. If this arrangements present no solution, let the battery check and the car on power loss.
  18. A Turbo is a little more difficult than a Carrera, cause the lack of room between the water pump pulley and the engine bracket, to remove the belt, but it's possible and the way to go. It helps, if you remove the steering pump pulley first, before you get out the belt, and placed the pulley back with the new belt already in place, it will give you a little more room and overview on the belt possition and routing, at least on the right side.
  19. Looks simple, new remote program unsuccessful, let them program again (or replace the new remote) till both remotes work as it should. PIWIS is a wonderful diagnostic and programmer devise, if the user is experienced enough.
  20. 1973 911 2.7 litre RS duck tail is still my favorites, despite the loss of oil from the magnesium engine. A milestone in Porsche history IMHO.
  21. On top of the cylinder head (valve cover), it's better to look under the car, it will be clear in a minute.
  22. I would take a look on that side, perhaps the actuator or sensor is hit, there is not much room between the cylinder head and the sub frame.
  23. As Loren indicated, the seal does not show on the parts listing, your dealer can help you out with the appropriate one, which is undoubtedly in stock.
  24. Could it be possible that "ninsei" car is equipped with a ZF tiptronic and yours with a MB, despite they share the commercial name TIPTRONIC, both constructions are different.
