  1. A PIWIS tool is needed to program the system from normal to daytime running light, they can do the miles/Km change at the same time.
  2. Sorry,my mistake, it must be 500 gram (0.500 Kg) which is aprox. a small pint (half litre)
  3. 997/2 and Cayenne with DFI engine use approx. the same quantity of oil as the Turbo engines, which is various with driving style and conditions, between 0.500 grams and 1.250 gram per 1.000 KM.
  4. Cylinder bank 2 (cyl. 5), opposite position of oil filler cap.
  5. Looks like a faulty brake switch, scrowner, i would start with the switch if i were you.
  6. It's rather typical for very short distance, garage to street, with a cold flat six engine, and certainly not recommended. I would wait with a AOS replacement till the engine blow some blueish smoke, on start up, during longer distances.
  7. Check the head light connectors (both, one on the unit and one on the car) for corrosion/high resistance and proper fitting, check the bulbs for right fitting type, placement and voltage, light switch unit (inclusive L/R flasher) on the steering column, wiring, in this order. A swap with a spare light unit, if possible, should already eleminate a failure in the unit self.
  8. Please use the board search function button: PSE
  9. Could be the clutch pedal assist spring unit (if still present), the wrong clutch assembly (3.4 L versus 3.6 L / S - 3.8 L), missing plastic top on the slave push rod or bend, and still air bubbles in the system (your profile shows Boxster??)
  10. A suction extractor will work well, if you do a final bleed round manually.
  11. Agree with Tool Pants, faulty DME and fuel pump relay's will give the same symptoms when overhead.
  12. There is a limiter build in the DME (new car mode), a deeper look in to the system with a PIWIS tool is highly recommended, to find out why the limiter kicks in once in a while.
  13. 997 engines till MY 05 have the small nut in the middle of the IMS cover (as the pics. shows). From MY 06 they used a larger stud and nut (latest update) with success till now.
  14. As long as i remember, PCM's with this issue are replaced by a rebuild unit. You can always use a PIWIS tool to find out what's wrong and/or do a reprogramming/wake up to be sure.
  15. I would use the approved brake fluid only, you can do no harm this way.
  16. It speaks for itself that on the basis of the VIN # and potentially proof of ownership, every OPC the information requested can provide.
  17. I would start with reprogramme (PIWIS tool) the car from Halogen to HID. Perhaps it helps.
  18. You can order a Porsche in the colour you want, interior and exterior as well, whatever the color catalogue contents in Europe, if you're willing to pay.
  19. Porsche new car warranty transfer should be worldwide IMHO.
  20. Give this a try, push the clutch pedal at least 30 times, with the engine NOT running, till the assistance is reduced till 0 ( pedal feel firm). This is the real pressure without assistance, i'm pretty sure you will need the assistance back ASAP, unless you have a bionic left leg.
  21. Don't forget to check the brake light switch, wiring and fuse box first to eleminate PSM/PASM/ABS codes and cranking problem.
  22. I fear that a close wiring and connector check is inevitable (visually and with multi-meter) in case of an accident, especially in the affected areas and even the full length of the wires if necessary, an electrical diagram will be needed. It can take a while but is soluble, success.
  23. Is the car 100% stock, no mods done, engine or gearbox swap (from manual to Tipronic) and free of accidents?
  24. Yes, you can charge the battery from the engine compartment, use the power connection in the black plastic box, on the middle/right side of the engine, use the engine or rear bracket as negative. It is not usual but possible.
