  1. The springs and metal retaining parts are not very sturdy and should be replaced regularly.
  2. One cracked sender unit per car life has been rather rare, let alone two and than in such a short time, are you sure that nothing else is wrong?
  3. The sensors are indeed mounted on the suspension lower arms.
  4. The handbrake switch is no longer part of the system since the top can be activated while driving the car till approx. 50Km/h. (987). I would check the fuses and the relays to start with, normal sized relays on 987 instead of the double relay on 986. A fault code check with a PIWIS or similar diagnostic tool would be able to save you time.
  5. The self leveling function is covered in the body memory, (let) check the existing fault codes, there are several possibilities, power, leveling sensors, leveling motors, wiring, connectors, etc.
  6. There is a repair set available for the sun glass holder issue. Contact the dealer or board sponsor sunset imports.
  7. The pipe in the pic. is a ventilation/breather pipe, the brittle plastic water pipes/connectors are situated on the rear of the engine (between the engine and the firewall)
  8. The ignition timing is not manually adjustable, it's all in the DME cartography.
  9. You can turn off the TPMS in the BC, on every start the message TPMS OFF will appear, it's all in the manual.
  10. Some simple points to look at, are the calipers, pads and tension springs, rotors and wheels properly fastened? have the tyres on the same axle, the same dimensions allowed by Porsche? are they or some of them worn?
  11. Since the engine will run with the help of some start-pilot, the ignition looks O.K. Your problem seems like a faulty fuel pump or clogged fuel filter to me, to be sure you will have to (let) measure the fuel pressure and flow capacity.
  12. As wvicary stated "Japanese transmissions fails as well" you have the best example, Cayenne automatic transmissions ARE Japanese made.
  13. The difference between 17K3 and 17K4 is the radio frequency ROW versus US 433/315 MHz.
  14. I think in the direction of a new mechanism, please do a search for replacement instructions, you will find a lot of examples.
  15. Vapour lock phenomena are rather rare on M96 engines, i would look in to the relays or pump system. Check out if the fuel delivery (pressure, flow, residual pressure) on the rail is sufficient at the time the engine fails to run. Success.
  16. Clear side markers (or direction indicators) needs amber bulbs, amber side markers (or direction indicators) needs clear bulbs.
  17. You cant bleed the clutch properly with the slave cylinder out of the car. 1) pull the slave out of the transmission, check if the push rod is still in place or is correct installed in the lever (fork) 2) bleed the system as it should with the slave installed.
  18. I would replace the coils also, i can see a crack on the coil on the pic (near the bolt)
  19. Misfires are detected by the combination of crankshaft sensor and camshaft sensor. The crankshaft sensor detects a difference in crankshaft speed at the moment of the misfire, the camshaft sensor detects the corresponding cylinder. In other words, misfires are not always caused by defective coils or spark plugs, partial defective cats, valve lifters, worn cams, etc. are not be excluded as a cause as well.
  20. I would start with cleaning the throttle body and the idle valve, which is located (bolted on) on the side of the throttle body. Do a search on the board and you will find more detailed info.
  21. Remove the bumper, the connector is visible on Tool Pants pic. besides the wire label, attached on the black spoiler reinforcement.
  22. Check the connector behind the rear bumper, if the bumper ever was removed.
  23. A leaking water pump and water tubes still remains possible and the plastic water tubes connectors on the rear of the engine aswell, visible from below with the car on a lift, or with a mirror from above.
  24. Off topic: Audi V6 3.2 is a classic V engine with two cylinder heads, they only use two similar VW and Porsche 10.6° V6 engine blocks, each covered by one cylinder head in a W 12 cylinder configuration for some exclusives.
  25. A safe multi-V belt replace interval is 90.000 Km or 4 years under normal conditions, as wvicary said, it is possible that some other damage could occur, unlikely on the S, but almost certainly on the Turbo (small plastic turbo actuation valves pressure lines)
