  1. It can been seen as a DIY, depends on the tools, room and experience available. Do a search on the board, both items are discussed here many times.
  2. You're absolutely right to the point, Maurice.
  3. The module will also be programmed out of the system, with a PIWIS diagnostic tool, if you will avoid fault codes IMHO.
  4. 993 pollen filters are located left and right inside the unit, well sealed (in the trunk, under the carpet near the firewall). Normally they are difficult to access for rodents, they prefer other places.
  5. Problem 1: probably faulty front engine mount, replace 2: heavy clutch operation indicates a nearly worn clutch assy., replace friction disc, pressure plate and release bearing. 2.5 Liter Boxsters engines are no example of flexibility cause lack of torque on low RPM, this is rather normal behaviour.
  6. Disconnect the + and the - cable from the battery, connect the loose + and the loose - cable with a jumper cable for a few minutes (reboot), reconnect the + and the - cables on the battery, trey again.
  7. Keep in mind that the "Cruise Control" clutch pedal switch is not the same as the "Ignition Interrupter" switch on the same pedal. You need to find the same type of switch as on the brake pedal, but with a Red colored body.
  8. The damage on the cap looks minimal to me, i would try it. It is obvious if you are not comfortable with it that you notify the vendor about the damage.
  9. Loose the cables on the handbrake lever, the cables will be longer than, pull on the parts 7 and 8, part 9 is just free of the hub and has more room to be removed (push out), the cable is free now, part 10 can stay in place. Do the hand brake adjustment after reinstalling the brake shoes and cable this way: adjust parts 2 and 3 (hand brake adjusters) to the minimum length by turning the knurled edge, install the rotors, adjust by the knurled edge, through the specific hole in the rotors, til the rotors are blocked, turn back till the rotors turns freely, adjust the cables on the hand brake lever till the rotors are blocked, turn back till the rotors turns complete freely, repeat the procedure on the hand brake adjusters as mentioned above. Both rotors should be blocked simultaneously by 4 clicks of the hand brake lever (986/996 - NOT on 987/997) and turning freely by released lever. Readjust if necessary. Make sure that all the parts are installed properly and in the same way as it was. Success.
  10. Maybe you find the solution in this section http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?app=core&module=search&do=search&fromMainBar=1
  11. Have you read this: http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?/topic/32022-car-wont-start-anyone-have-a-relay-diagram/ perhaps it helps.
  12. Have you already checked the brake light switch? After a longer period of standstil, they can stick.
  13. Again, check the clutch release bearing and pressure plate.
  14. No problem if you use the Bosch variant with the same specifications (compare to the Bosch dealer/shop).
  15. daveFL76, let (your dealer) run PIWIS "new car delivery" and your problem should be gone.
  16. We need the error codes in first place, without codes it's still a guess.
  17. I would check the auxiliary spring system, kind of power system on the pedal, in first place sometimes they will crack.
  18. It should help if you remove the door lights and bulbs, in first place to avoid battery problems and in second place to avoid melting door lights produced by the bulb heat. They ware created for normal use, not for hours, the interior light idem.
  19. pacemaker1000, are you sure that UK cars do not use a clutch pedal switch ?
  20. OK, i see what you meant Maurice, they still have some weaknesses after a certain number of cold/hot cycles.
  21. The level sensor can not leak Maurice, he has no contact with the cooling water.
  22. A faulty switch on top of the clutch pedal is also a possibility.
  23. A faulty pressure cap is possible, check the last two digits on the cap, it should be 04 or higher, replace the cap if it is not the case.
  24. The pollen filter is only for outside air because the flap under the filter is closed when REC. is engaged. Anyway, the filter should be replaced on the regular maintenance schedule because he always is exposed to the outside air, independent of the AC/HEATER/VENT. system actual position. I would further follow up ADias counsel concerns the REC. position.
  25. The simplest thing you can do is to check error codes and the door lock functions with a diagnostic tool, based on the obtained results, you can than eleminate the existing problem. Otherwise it remains guessing, especially on cars without alarm and remote.
