  1. Cayenne, 987 and 997 use no longer TORKX, which have 6 points. They use KLANN KL-4064-601 K which is a set of 9 small keys, they look the same but have only 5 points. The reason they give is that the MAF is available only as a unit with the housing, just like the older 964 and 993. The MAF should be calibrated inside the housing according Bosch, but may also commercial reasons. KLANN keys are rather hard to find.
  2. As "wvicary" already indicated, only a PIWIS diagnostic tool can help you out in a decent and quick way. Kessy system can cause problems for sure.
  3. A simple scanner can read no other codes than emission related codes. Since the unit wont turn on, i would check the fuse on the rear (back side) of the unit too.
  4. The pipe is a part of the crankcase ventilation system, there will always be an oil residue present by precipitating oil vapors. The yellowish creamy fluid is a mix of these oil residue and water vapour from the combustion which precipitates as water drops on the coldest parts of the engine, remember that a cold engine get soaking wet inside until fully warmed up ( approx. 10 a 15 Km normal driving). This is therefore a normal phenomenon.
  5. It is not the new cap that broke the coolant reservoir, it is the old cap which is defective and therefore loose cooling system pressure, no pressure no leak. Driving without pressure in the cooling system increases the chance of overheating significantly.
  6. The code you mentioned is a timing issue, not a misfire code, either a camshaft sensor problem or a stretched timing chain/worn guides IMHO. This happens sometimes.
  7. A broken wire inside the cable, near the shock absorber, where the cable attachment in rubber is located would sometimes occur. Cut the cable and the rubber mounting open in the longitudinal direction with a razor blade, the protective cable casing and the rubber are vulcanized too tight, the inside wiring will crack by several up and downwards wheel movement.
  8. There should be a note glued on the driver side B-pillar, 18 " front 2.5 Kg/cm² rear 3.0 Kg/cm² measured on cold tires (for example: in the morning, car not driven yet)
  9. Maybe the cap is not properly installed or the filler neck tube cracked, both are pretty common. Better to read the codes first as suggested by Loren.
  10. 997/987 use no longer a locking pin, i believe that you have to push the button forwards, turn full to the left and than pull the button off at the same time, i cant check it for sure cause the car is not here for the moment.
  11. DFI engines tubes are different in design and dimensions, maybe they are more confident in it. The older Cayenne's kept around 100.000 Km.
  12. Hard disc driven Porsche navigation systems use a code (payable to the dealer) and a PIWIS 1 or 2 diagnostic/programing tool to finish the job.
  13. The left and right longitudinal tension cables are hold by a transverse elastic ribbon, which pull the cables slightly to the middle of the car so that they fit in the plastic trim instead of over the trim. Probably the ribbon broke, take a look with the roof halfway, between the textile roof layers, the ribbon can be sewn by hand.
  14. The factory has never changed the water pipes from plastic to metal ones during the production, these were intended only as the ultimate upgrade for V8 up to MY06 with indirect fuel injection. From MY08 V8 with direct injection, they are still made from plastic, but a different design. Maybe it will surprise that MY07 is missing, that's because MY08 (VIN) is delivered early 2007. This fact will affect the purchase/sale price in some countries depending on whether the VIN MY or the date of entry into service is applicable, if the purchase prise is linked to the entry into service date there is no problem, in the other case (per MY) the car is too expensive under certain circumstances, for example MY08 delivered early 2007.
  15. The secondary air pump would indeed be eligible for replacement, just as your tires shown in the video :o .
  16. It may be that your dealer proceed to replace the plastic master clutch cylinder (if fitted), there are some problems with in some circumstances.
  17. The points you mentioned are all possible, however, random replacing parts is very expensive at the end. Use a diagnostic tool or go to a dealer to read out the fault codes first, according to the codes and some measurements it's more possible to narrow your search IMHO.
  18. Usually the wiper motor/control box unit is the culprit, anyway, its better to check the fuses, wiring's and connectors first and the moving parts of the mechanism as well to be sure.
  19. By hydro lock, the start motor can get the engine up to around 360° before the engine gets stuck by infiltrated liquid (depending the specific piston possition) Hydro lock can damage engine components as cracked liners, bent rods (when driving through deep puddles of water, a quantity can enter in to the engine via air filter) etc. Will occur occasionally during the RAC rally in the UK. This is a general description of a hydro lock. I hope it brings some clarity on the issue lock.
  20. I do not think that Porsche Germany will loose sleep over this issue (guess why i know that), the dealer must solve that problem in first place, therefore he is appointed. You have the right to change any dealership, or at worst write Porsche North America.
  21. The problem with cleaning is that a specific active product, which is responsible for the air mass measurement, is applied on the element by a "vaporization" process (hot film). Each contact with a cleaning product and/or swab would disappear a part of the active product, it may be that the CEL sometimes would disappear temporarily (is within the adaption range) but the air mass measurement will never be perfect, therefor a replacement is recommended by BOSCH/PORSCHE. I hope that the element operation is understandable.
  22. It will happen with all brand of street tyres and correct standard alignment, the explanation why,is already somewhere on the board, it has something to do with the unequal front left - right wheel rotation angle in curves, and pronounced with fully turned steering wheel. This of course is a brief and simple explanation.
  23. The correct interpretation of the noise and circumstances would make it easier. The wheel possition problem occurs especially by full turn at first start, in cold conditions. The sound is like scratching of cold hard rubber on a rough surface, sometimes the wheel jumps a little rather than rolling, perfectly visible for a helper standing next to the front wheels. It does not happen with warm tyres and hot outside temperatures. Other noises belong probably to other parts.
  24. Have you already checked the mountings of the engine compartment purge fan? It's just an idea.
  25. The accessory system is probably confused by a combination of circumstances, let ALL available KEYS reprogram with a PIWIS diagnostic/programming tool.
