  1. When you start the car on cold mornings, the "smoke" is mostly steam and is normal, the phenomenon should disappear once the outside temperature is rising. Just keep an eye on it.
  2. http://www.porsche.com/usa/accessoriesandservices/porscheservice/maintenanceintervals/ Hope its help.
  3. Adding a lubricant help only temporarily and is intended only as an aid to locate a noise (ball joints), it always ends with a new part.
  4. Use the "Special Offers" button at the top of the page and select "Sunset Porsche Parts" , these guys can certainly help.
  5. Welcome, have you already tried the search button? This item has already been discussed many times.
  6. Check also the power steering fluid level, with a too low fluid level, the steering pump will squeak.
  7. Any decent A/C specialist, worthy of the name, must be considered capable to find leaks how small they may be.
  8. I would start reading error codes and system check with a PIWIS diagnostic tool, it could be anything as wiring interruption or even missing, control box/relay bad, fuses, spoiler motor or drive, etc.
  9. Be sure that the replacement rubber vacuum tubes are fuel/oil resistant, if not you can start over next year.
  10. No, the switch is located just under the Climate Control unit panel on a 987/997. It is a complete unit together with PSM and some other buttons depending on the available options, you will need a wiring diagram to check the wiring's in the single conector.
  11. Older Cayenne's have sometimes suffered from water infiltration into the button of the glass part ( where the wiper is fitted ), a new button is than inevitably. The first thing to do is always error code checking.
  12. If the engine is already equipped with variocam plus, check out the hydraulic tappets of the corresponding cylinder. It may be that one of the tappets remains blocked in the full lift possition.
  13. Agree with logray about the battery as first suspect. It would appear that the battery is the culprit.
  14. Glad that it is solved.
  15. No problem Alfieboy, the 996 rear quarter is made of galvanised steel, not aluminum.
  16. The booster is rarely the cause of such symptoms, if properly bled and no traces of brake fluid are visible, i would rather look at inner leakage on master brake pump or ABS unit. Just a thought.
  17. Weird, the battery inside the key is only for the remote, not for the transponder. But OK if it works.
  18. Replace is the better option, the seal shrinks with age and jumps out of the groove.
  19. In your profile is marked Carrera 2005 as car which of course is no a DFI. Anyway, i would take a look, depending on the specific gearbox or clutch, or the sound does not come from that area. There is more info needed on car-gearbox-options, etc.
  20. The differences depend on the car options, pull away lid/standard, grill/rear AC unit, etc.
  21. Looks like the handle retaining spring is broken, the door upholstery must be disassembled to check and replace the spring. Do a search in the 986/996 forums, this topic is certainly already discussed.
  22. This has already been discussed several times, the problem is the door lock micro switch. The lock thinks that the door is still closed even when they is open.Do a search for more info.
  23. The car is not supported on the wheels to the floor may i hope, the wheels must be separate from the floor, otherwise it is indeed difficult if not impossible.
