  1. For MY 1999 you have to remove the cam cover, loosen the timing chain, cam shafts and actuator mechanism. Not directly a DIY job IMHO.
  2. Do you have used longer wheel bolts? If you do, it is possible that the bolt ends hit the handbrake mechanism.
  3. You have to remove the bolts that hold the front sub frame to the chassis and lower the sub frame a little to have clearance. I have no torque specifications, perhaps Loren can help.
  4. Water infiltration at this spot for right hand traffic (LHD) when parked along the road - the car incline to the right - is mostly a faulty slide roof drain, if you god one, or a crack in the front windshield liquid sealing ( the black glue ). Is the windshield still the first one or a spare one ?
  5. GT 2 seats have no thorax airbags built in, they are to skinny for that. I think that your seats have noting to do with the original GT 2 seats.
  6. They use stock air filters for so far as i now.
  7. Low posting means no problems, so far so good as we say over here.
  8. A lot of Cayenne's have this problem, starts after approx. 100.000 Km. Looks like a sort of RMS problem for Cayenne's.
  9. Hi You can find the drain if you remove the under plate of the dash on the passenger side (LHD cars) on the left rear side of the unit.
  10. The original heat index over here is 5, index 7 is to hot. Bosch and Beru use the index starting with a small number = cold, how bigger the number how hotter the spark plug is, NGK use the index reversed.
  11. The ventilation system is on the left cyl. bank on top of cyl.5, follow the black plastic tubes. Regards.
  12. It is a one hand exercise, the door have to stay fully open without coming back a bit.
  13. You have to open the roof trim, the last part of the trim, than you can see 2 gas springs on the left and 2 on the right ( 1 big and 1 small ). The small ones are for the glass and the big ones for the door, change them all 4. The door must stay in the open possition to remove the springs, but take note that the door is very heavy don't forget to support the door it can cost your fingers!!!!!!!
  14. The bearing is not available separately, you have to open the engine and change the intermediate shaft completely.
  15. ROW cars Europe 2003: spark plug change 80.000 Km or 4 years oil change 20.000 Km or 2 years fuel filter + poly V-belt 80.000 Km air filter 40.000 Km cabine filter 20.000Km
  16. There is something wrong with the pressure plate i guess.
  17. The jack mode is a safety item, if you jack up the car to change a wheel and some body turn the key to the contact position, it is possible that the air suspension compressor start working and the system ( the 3 other suspension elements ) will stabilise the car on a approx. horizontal position, the car can come off the jack.
  18. The button on European cars work only with the doors closed and lock and engine running.
  19. Weld a bit on a normal key to get out the small screws, it is possible, but not easy. Pull out the changer through the existing opening in the trim, without dismantling the trim.
  20. It is possible to remove the lower part of the bumper separately but it is difficult, the fastening hooks are very very fragile. Porsche advice to remove the bumper completely.
  21. Hi The problem is the pressure in the cabin, the air escapes along the side windows on top in the hooks. The window seals are not thick enough in the hooks. Tape the side windows with masking tape on the outside and do a test drive. Let us now the result.
  22. Indeed, simply disconnect and reconnect when completed, this have nothing to do witch engine alignment.
  23. You have to turn the hydraulic piston, when he is up, in to the bottom of the wing with a special key.
  24. The oil filter on a V6 is situated on the bottom left front side of the engine.
