  1. Take a look on the bottom side of the bumper shield, the heat shield and the bumper are screwed together with 2 screws. Probably 1 screw is missing.
  2. You have to change the mechanism, a part of the cable is snapped, that's way the mechanism is blocked. Take a good look again.
  3. Correct Tool Pants, the second battery in the spare wheel housing is only for the start function.
  4. There is no room under the hood and under the back seat neither, the gas tank forms a copy of the rear bottom of the car. The firs year after the introduction you could have a second battery in option which was located in the spare wheel housing, on Cayenne's without BOSE.
  5. Just where the metal cover begins, these are V6 coils.
  6. You have to rise the seat, remove the 2 bolts on the front of the seat base, remove the left and right trim on the back of the seat base, remove the screw which hold the heater/airco vent under the seat and remove the vent, open the battery cover on the front and the rear, tilt the complete seat to the back and remove the cover, remove the battery.
  7. You need a new rear bumper in aluminium since the base of the hitch is the rear bumper. Remove the control box mounted behind the right rear side trim ( located approx. under the rear side window ), the complete wiring and renew the side trim with the switch if the hitch is electric controlled to prevent fault codes. Clear the programming with PIWIS.
  8. Using needle nose pliers is still the way to do it, in combination with WD40 or similar product. It happen regular with the V6 coils.
  9. You have to use a hook if the damper spring sticks in the piston, simply pull out.
  10. The control box is faulty, you can always try with a reprogramming but i suspect the control box.
  11. There is always a risk after installing a ROW 030 kit for squeaks on an older 986 - 996, some suspension parts takes a different possition. In first place the control arms with the camber adjustment, mounted on the bottom of the wheel bearing housing and the rod with the toe-in toe-out adjustment mounted on the rear side of the wheel bearing housing. The rubbers on the sway bar are replaced i presume. Let a helper shake the car up and down when cold while you take the mountings on the housing with your hands, you can feel the vibrations and hear the squeak at the same time on the faulty pivot. This is the cheapest way to find out.
  12. If you got still warranty let the dealer fix this problem, if not trey an other light switch. It can happen even on a relative young car.
  13. Racing fuel is not recommended for street cars because of different reasons. Belgian market Porsche's runs on 97 octane but we can get in some places 100 octane unleaded street fuel as well, the perceptible difference is only the price in this case. If you ever got serious engine trouble while using racing fuel , the warranty is lapsed, don't forget that.
  14. I forgot to mention that this happen only for 997 - 987 with day time running lights.
  15. If you have a light/rain sensor it is normal, in some circumstances, for example if you got by daylight the head lights on, the cluster stays dark even if you drive in a tunnel for a short time, it depends on the intensity of daylight versus darkness.
  16. To make a long story short, steering rack, electronic components, wiring, and a lot more.
  17. The brake light switch is equipped with a triple contact, if the brake pedal is pressed the contacts are closed. The body color of the switch is brown for European cars en located up and on the front of the brake pedal. Remove the heater duct for more room, turn the switch to the right approx. 90 degrees and pull out. To install lubricate the locking area with a small amount of grease, push and turn the switch 90 degrees to the left. It's sounds controversy to turn right to unlock and vise verso, but it is more easier.
  18. Condensation residues in the filler cap area are normal, it is the coolest area of the entire engine. The humidity inside the engine go's up and forms condensation in the coolest area, the residue is a chemical reaction between water and oil. If the car have no coolant consumption there is nothing to worry about, it is a typical short run symptom. All Porsche engines with the oil filler separate from the engine have this, even the air coolers.
  19. DSG is manual transmission based, Tiptronic is automatic transmission based.
  20. Have you jacked up the car by the engine crankcase ? If yes look for leaking motor mounts.
  21. Can you explain where precisely the antifreeze on the floor is situated, left rear behind the wheel, rear - middle, etc.
  22. You are right 1schoir this is the procedure for European cars.
  23. The frequent on - off cycle of the compressor in combination with the gas noise confirm my opinion, too less gas. The system contains enough gas to stay active, for example a full system contains 0,850 Kg ( 850 Gr. ) if there is a leak somewhere and there is still 0,600 Kg. in the system, than you got this symptom, once the capacity drops to 0,450 Kg. the compressor cut off.
  24. If you can hear the passing of the gas, it means that the system contains a to small quantity of gas.
  25. If the car is set with the max. negative camber you have to go to the max. toe-in to compensate for the rear and front axle as well, all in the tolerance values of course. I think that you have got the max. negative camber in combination with the max. toe-out what declare the tyre inside wear. It is necessary to top up the fuel tank for a alignment, a difference in weight of approx. 50 Kg. on the front axle gives you a totally wrong result.
