  1. They did not mention the place. However, I have had no problems in the 6 years prior (3 trips through NJ registration) to the install so my first thought was the pipes. Could be anywhere of course.
  2. A few months back, I installed a used PSE system on my 1999 911 C2 Coupe 6sp. As far as I knew, all was fine and the sound is dramatically better than the stock exhaust - I was actually quite suprised at how much louder it was. I did not install the electronics and do not plan to given the great sound. However, when I recently took the car for its inspection (NJ) they informed me I had an exhaust leak and therefore did not pass the car. My assumption is I must have not have aligned the sleeves / clamps appropriately on the exhaust pipe. Alternatively, should I have replaced the sleeves/clamps and not re-used the original ones? Any advice is certainly appreciated - Thank you. 1999 911 C2 / Silver / Boxster Red / 39k miles PSE / M030 ROW / GT3 Seats Gone but great memories: 1988 944 Turbo S / Silver Rose / Red Plaid 1990 944 S2 Cabriolet / Black / Parchment
  3. I also own a 99 996 and can say it has been a pleasure. Car has only 40k but I've had very few issues other than normal maintenance in the 5 years I have owned it. For any used Porsche, I would highly recommend a PPI be done by a reputable mechanic - it is a worthwhile investment. Also, if you have service records from the PO that is certainly a good thing. Bast of luck.
