  1. I have a 2003 Boxster S (986) with a CDR-23 that's in PROTECT mode after having the instrument cluster replaced. The cruise control also isn't working. Every few times I start the car, I can hear audio coming through the speakers of the last radio station the system was tuned to, but other than that, the audio system is locked. From what I have read, (http://www.renntech.org/forums/topic/44188-9pa-cdr23-protect-mode/; http://www.renntech.org/forums/topic/11598-porsche-cdr23-cdradio-protect-problem/) it seems like a dealer reset/reconfiguration will be necessary to get everything playing nicely again. I'd like to try fixing this myself if possible, or have a solid understanding of where to start to save the Porsche technicians some time... plus I'd just like to understand my car better in case I one day decide to try hacking my own KTS-500/PST2. John-J, did you fix this issue yourself?
