  2. I don't have a way to cross the sub-assembly. Maybe a dealer could by checking the numbers on their stock. Did the seller say what year/model car they came off of?
  3. Those are subassembly numbers generally not listed outside of Porsche. Do you have pics of the complete bumper covers.

  6. I think you need to re-read Larry's post - the housing alone was $850 and the dealer comp'ed the labor. An exchange 6 speed for a MY01 Boxster is MSRP $4270.43 without the install labor. A new 6 speed for a MY01 Boxster is MSRP $7243.30 without the install labor.
  7. You could try to clean the connections on the egas throttle valve sensor. Or it could just be bad.
  8. I fixed this for Peter yesterday. The dealer should have know the model type code has to be in the DME to change any programming. The PST2 even has a warn message to that affect when you try to code something.

  11. Here is how I understand the "oil separators" use. There are actually 3 (what Porsche calls) oil separators. Two are in the sump and are used primarily to remove the air from returned oil so that when the pump picks up sump oil to circulate through the engine it gets oil and not an oil/air mixture. These are really swirlpots that defoam the oil. These are usually pretty reliable and rarely fail. (see item 4 below) The Air Oil Separator on the top of the engine is the common one to fail. It is used to take oil droplets (mist) and vapors (gases) from the crankcase and return the oil to the crankcase and burn the oil vapor in the engine (for emissions control). Most often the membrane in this oil separator fails and you get huge amount of oil sucked into the intake (and produce clouds of smoke). (see item 1 below)
  12. On MY02 and newer there is a returnless fuel system. On these cars the fuel filter usually does not need replacing unless the gas tank has become contaminated. "2060 Fuel filter The fuel filter is integral in the tank unit and no longer requires changing. A reduction in deliver rate can be detected via the mixture adaption."

  14. Try 9433 or 9431 Loren, sorry to trouble you again, but it appears that I didn't provide you with completly accurate information. I have confirmed the Model #, and Serial #, listed earlier are correct, but I incorrectly identified the radio as being "Becker", it is actually a Harman Karden by Becker. While there does appear to be 10 presets, when entering the code, only the digits 1 thru 7 are available and it appears that the code should be a 5 digit number. Would this corrected information change the information you input into your program and perhaps result in different codes? Or are the Model number and Serial number enough? Any additional insight you might have would be most appreciated. Thanks again, Todd. Yes, that changes it. Try 29433 or 29431

  21. That is easy to test unplug the MAF and see if it makes any difference.
  22. They are "guidelines" so most dealers would be yes. Indies are on their own - they can charge more or less.
  23. Sounds like another broken (or disconnected) latch.
