  1. Well, unless something else got disconnected you may now have a bad cluster. Did you remove the cluster to install the radio? If you did perhaps one of the locking connectors is not all the way in and locked down.
  2. That does not sound good. I would try removing the radio - last install and see if it comes back.
  3. That is a tough one. It will depend on where you live and their inspection rules. If you remove the smog pump then you really need to remove the air injectors and plug ports in the heads too. Since it is a California car you likely also would want to replace the cat with a 50 state version or a straight pipe. I think Performance Products sells both. Again, depending on your sates rules you might have to leave it "as is" unless it is unrepairable.
  4. Nice car! I answered your oil question in the other thread.
  5. Loren

    Motor oil

What is approved for 1983 911SC ? I live in Virginia. All of Porsche's approved oils lists start with "As of model year 1984". For my air cooled cars I always ran straight 40W in the summer and 5W-30 in the winter.
  6. Where is Boxster fuel filter after 9/2002, I suppose, that fuel filter in tank, but??? j.h Yes, it is in the fuel tank and normally does need changing unless the fuel tank become contaminated.

  8. i followed the the diagram that u sent or someone sent me i forgot , i know i screwed up somewhere ? is there a wire that sends volatge up to the speedometer ? maybe my speedo just went bad ??? how can i check this ? thanks for your help Does everything else on the cluster work? Digital speed and analog speed (needle) are both out?
  9. Hmm... sounds like you connected the gray/pink wire to the wrong place.
  10. I would look for a reputable Porsche shop to do the PPI then. If you can't find one then you may have trouble doing any non-DIY work on your car.
  11. Um... Sunset Imports (Porsche Parts at Dealer Cost) link at the top right of every page...
  12. Either a bad cap and/or tank. If the cap part number ends in 00 then it needs be changed. If the cap is 01 or later then it is likely ok and the tank is leaking. In a few cases both are leaking.
  13. 900.378.181.09 hex bolt M 10 x 145 -- US MSRP $4.71
  14. BS IMHO. Do a search and read the comments here. You will get more induction noise but no way 23+ HP. Put you money into better tires or an upgraded suspension.
  15. Well, soon I'll be looking for a car away from home but it seems that durametric software/cable will only allow to read codes from 3 cars :( How can I "shop" for a car with just 3 tries? I decided I can't rely on this nice tool... I certainly would not judge a car on just reports readings from the Durametric Software or a PST or PIWIS tester. What you describe is not Durametrics (or the other tools) main purpose. You would need a proper PPI on any car you care seriously considering.
  16. GT2 comes with adjustable coilovers - X73 is not adjustable.
  17. Yes, 63 ftlb.
  18. :welcome: P2187 Oxygen Sensing Adaptation, Idle Range, Bank 1 (RKAT1) - Above Limit Possible fault cause - Incorrect main charge signal - Intake air system leaking - Fuel pressure too low - Volume supply of fuel pump too low - Mechanical fault in injection valves - PCV valve leaks - Cap of oil filler neck leaking - Leaks in exhaust system - EVAP canister purge valve mechanically faulty (hangs open) - EVAP canister purge valve output stage faults Chances are it was the gas cap. Don't worry about unless it comes back on. Then check the other possible causes.
  19. Here is a list of all the under body parts for a MY2004 996TT. 996tt_underbody_parts.pdf
  20. I don't see that Porsche sells just the socket. Likely because it would require soldering to change. They do sell the front light harnesses though - you would need to specify left or right side. Now for the bad news - the harnesses have a MSRP of $359.35 each -- so you might want to try a salvage yard like Oklahoma Foreign or Silver Star Recycling.
  21. Race cars don't need no heat! :)
