  1. That's a lot of trouble to go to for a snapped bolt. Have they tried an easy-out? You will need to re-torque everything and get an alignment if you take the wheel carrier off.
  2. As I said there is a sensor on each wheel. You will likely need a PIWIS tester to find out if the fault is in your instrument cluster or somewhere else.
  3. Have you looked in your Owners Manual for fuse locations? There is a paper with all fuse locations on the back of the fuse panel cover. Horns fuse is B3.
  4. The wheel hub is the lower strut mount. What are you wanting to do?
  5. :welcome: Two horns (behind the front bumper) for traffic are connected to the steering wheel horn button. One alarm horn (next to the battery) is used for alarms and faults in the alarm system. If you hear a beep when you lock the car that means at least one zone is open and not armed. As Westcoaster said for the traffic horns - start with the fuse. As for the alarm check to see that the center console lid is closed. If it is not obvious you will need the Durametric software,r a PS2, or PIWIS tester to find out which zone is reporting the fault.
  6. Can you be more specific? As I recall speed is determined from the four ABS/PSM sensors at each wheel.

  9. Durametric is all you need for codes, system values and resetting many systems. There is tons of info here, a good website and the developer (Duram) answers questions quickly and updates and improves based on suggestions and requests! Cannot say enough...there is no other solution unless you have big money for a pst2 or know Loren personally! +1 for the Durametric and for the support readily given by Duram, the owner. It is a very useful diagnostic tool, with the capability of measuring certain engine parameters and functions. It's miles ahead of an ordinary scanner/reader and will pay for itself the first time you use it. Regards, Maurice. Is the Durametric better than the AutoEnginuity's ScanTool? I'm also looking to buy but wasn't sure which one is better (I have a 1999 996 C2).   13. I don't believe that is entirely correct, but will defer to others. I say that because when new, there was adequate space between the upper blade and the lower deck (plenty of clearance when washing the car). That space is now noticeably reduced. And there is no fault code issued during auto operation. I believe the fault code that RFM is speaking about would need to be read with a Porsche PIWIS tester. So, if you are concerned have your dealer hookup a PIWIS and run diagnostics on it.

  18. GT3 RS runs 350 mm 6 piston calipers (2 x 38 mm, 2 x 32 mm, 2 x 28 mm). I think that is about as close as you are going to get in Porsche parts without going back to the 1980's cars or Brembo upgrades.
  19. I am closing this thread - there are plenty of "oil" threads here. Everyone has a right to their own opinion -- and these seem to turn personal/negative so fast.
  20. Low pitched horn is on the left side (from the drivers perspective). High pitched horn is on the right side (from the drivers perspective).
  21. The part numbers ont he two parts would be better. In MY03 and 04 the there were 4 HVAC control units depending on options.
