  1. Try 6840 or 6838 Thanks for quick response but those did not work any others? Please read this and follow the instructions... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  2. I meant find an "independent" Porsche specialty shop. Without the fault codes everything is just a guess.
  3. If you do not own any diagnostic tools (fault code reader) then have the car towed to your favorite Porsche shop. If you drive very long with a flashing CEL you will damage those very expensive catalytic converters.
  4. There is a fuse on the back of the radio too.
  5. This is already covered in another thread (http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?s...st&p=123602) so i am going to close this one.
  6. I'm not sure if you can disable the wing but I had similar problems and I replaced the pentosin hydraulic fluid with a higher viscosity fluid LUCAS PSF sealer about 3 years ago and haven't had problems since. The procedure is simple but a little messy Hi Kirk -- can you describe the procedure for replacing the fluid please. Thank you. Please try our Search... Rear spoiler instructions for bleeding hydraulics
  7. Try the folks at Sunset Porsche (Porsche Parts at Dealer Cost). They sell the factory part for much much less than other dealers. You could try try aftermarket Bosch - but a number of folks have had bad luck with those sensors.
  8. The plate is intended to protect the engine if you (somehow) end up off the road - and/or to keep you from doing damage by backing into a curb etc.
  9. You will need the Durametric software, a PST2 or PIWIS to read the fault code(s) for the Tiptronic. Once you have the fault code(s) post them here and we'll try to help.
  10. Ask your dealer for (11 page) TSB 1/07 6626 Running Board Installation Instructions -- dated May 7, 2007 or become a Contributing Member here and get access to all the TSBs.
  11. 19 downloads

Specs and all the details for Bosch spark plugs (as of 2008).
  12. The spark plugs in your car should be Beru 14 FGR 6 KQU or Bosch FR 6 KQC.
  13. Not sure what you are pointing to... but you need to connect A2 to A5 (based on the info in the TSB).
  14. Did you make sure the switch is properly adjusted? Do the brake lights work?
  15. I don't think so. The 997 uses several different hubs depending on options (C2, C2S, C4, C4S, steel brakes or PCCB). What are you trying to do? Add larger brakes?
  16. :welcome: It might help to do a Search here... http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?s...st&p=123410
  17. Do you mean lower control arm (to add camber) or wheel carrier hub?
  18. It is not a broken belt buckle - the belt buckle electrical connections corrode and cause the fault. In August of 1999 Porsche changed all the production belt buckles in the cars to have gold plated contacts. If this fault would have shown up during your warranty period - Porsche would have replaced all four buckles, replaced the contact pins in the connectors with gold contacts pins, and re-soldered the ground wires under the drivers seat (per the 5 page TSB). Now that these cars are out of warranty Porsche will no longer do the TSB for free (at least from experiences recounted here). Most folks try cleaning the buckle contacts with electrical contact cleaner, and/or replace the faulting buckle and/or resolder the ground wires under the drivers seat. TSBs (all of them) are available here to view by our Contributing Members. If you would like to become a Contributing Member just click on the Donate link at the top left and follow the instructions.
  19. I think he just wants the mirror glass. If it is broken wear gloves to prevent injuries. Carefully pull the rearview mirror glass out of the metal clips. Disconnect electrical plug connection.
  20. If the CEL came back on then you still have a problem. If it is the same fault code - then you likely need a new MAF.
