  1. I would much rather that he buy it through the RennTech.org Amazon store - so RennTech.org can get a small percentage. ;) Porsche Boxster Service Manual: 1997-2004 Boxster, Boxster S (Robert Bentley) (Paperback)
  2. Loren, I would have thought it was the part of the latch that is circled in this picture. It is that small protrusion on the door latch that I only have to gently nudge .... to have the window drop down to its "door open" position. Sorry the encircling mark is also black .... I don't know how to make it a brighter color. Kim 8N1.837.015.C Door lock (left) -- US MSRP $150.81
  3. P2189 Oxygen Sensing Adaptation, Idle Range, Bank 2 (RKAT2) - Above Limit Possible fault cause - Incorrect main charge signal - Intake air system leaking - Fuel pressure too low - Volume supply of fuel pump too low - Mechanical fault in injection valves - PCV valve leaking - Cap of oil filler neck leaking - Leaks in exhaust system - EVAP canister purge valve mechanically faulty (hangs open) - EVAP canister purge valve output stage faults I would start with checking cap of oil filler neck.
  4. The TPS is pretty easy to test with Durametric, PST2 or PIWIS. In most cases if there is a problem with the TPS it will generate a fault code. It could still be that the ICV is sticking and needs to be replaced.
  5. I think many folks here use a product called pop-rivets - that are generally available for very little money. Most hardware stores here carry them. http://www.emhart.com/products/pop/rivets.asp
  6. Carefully drill the centers out.
  7. Please read this and follow the instructions... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  8. Boxster or Carrera? (you posted in Carrera but your profile says Boxster)
  9. Yes 4th row from the top and 9th fuse from the left.
  10. It is D9 for the PCM. Poor description in the TSB I think.
  11. It would depend on what is wrong with the cluster. They should be able to tell you what is working via their PIWIS.
  12. Glad it turned out well for you - as I said only a few folks have had the intermediate plate/gasket leak.
  13. I think this could be solved pretty quickly with a PST2 or PIWIS tester to diagnose the HVAC system.
  14. That is quite a few pages - what are looking to fix/change?
  15. Are you sure the blower motor is out and there is not just a piece of weatherstripping stuck in the fan? The weatherstripping problem is pretty common. 996.624.107.01 blower -- US MSRP $464.12 plus you will need the parts kit: 000.043.300.99 parts kit -- US MSRP $4.18
  16. Hard to say - using a PIWIS as intended should cause no harm. I just believe that if it was working when you took it in they have an obligation to have it working when they give it back - and you should not be charged for it.
  17. P1094 Mass air flow in front of throttle implausible Possible cause of fault - Throttle stiff or 'blocked' - Secondary air between hot film mass air flow meter and throttle (e.g. crack in hose) - Throttle adjusting unit faulty - Hot film mass air flow meter faulty (intake air temperature sensor) - Hot film mass air flow meter faulty - DME faulty (pressure sensor for ambient air pressure Did you unplug the MAF? Make sure all the connectors around the intake are plugged back in.
  18. Hmm... it was working when you took it in -- but it does not work now? That seems to me like something they should fix for free.
  19. I haven't tried on a MY02 or newer car but you can not on MY01 and older.
  20. TSB 4/97 2458 Humming / Vibration Noise from Fuel Return System -- dated 4-29-97.
  21. Since C3 was melted - I would start there. Start with everything on the C3 circuit.
  22. I searched high and low for the other thread and could not find it. Do you still have it bookmarked? Thanks. http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?s...ost&p=44231
