  1. P1502 Throttle Jacking Unit, Spring Test – Above Limit Clean the connectors, check the wiring for damage - clear the code and see if it comes back. If it does, you will likely need a new throttle jacking unit.
  2. :welcome: P1505 Throttle Jacking Unit, Control Range – Open Circuit The throttle angle demanded by the DME control module is achieved by means of a digitial position controller. The rapid and precise setting of the desired throttle position is of major importance for the quality of charging control. If a control range fault occurs, the actuator current for the throttle drive motor exceeds or falls below the nominal value. Check the connections - reset the fault code and see if it comes back. Thank you Loren, you are truly a Saint. Sorry for the lack of intro, will get more info once I get her running straight. Bloody supercharger has just been nothing but endless trouble. I got this fault after cleaning the throttle body with electrical cnotact cleaner. I also got P1508, which maybe to due to another blown MAF (don't know why the evo kit uses the K&N filter.) Which contacts should I be checking? Thanks again. P1508 Torque Comparison Function Monitor – Signal Implausible DME control fault. There are only two connectors on the throttle body - one is throttle position sensor(smaller of the two) and the throttle jacking (the large one). Inspect and clean the connectors on both and check the wiring for damage.
  3. Download the B&M short shifter instructions found here or on B&M's site. These instructions have pictures and are very good since you have to remove the rear center console to replace the shifter. http://www.bmracing.com/bmracing/installat...truction/67.pdf
  4. I think everything that can and needs to said here has been said - This topic is closed.
  5. Which part of the console (front or rear)? What are you wanting to do? (gearshift knob, short shifter, ?)
  6. Check the cable and see if it unplugged or damaged.

  8. Is that the CDC-3 serial number - if theat won't get you the radio code - I need the radio serial number. Please read this and follow the instructions... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  9. I seem to recall a TSB on this from 2000. As I recall the fix was a new latch hoop.
  10. A standard OBD II reader will not find anything for an "oil failure" - OBD II is emissions. You need to find someone with a PST2 or PIWIS tester that can read the sensors state.
  11. Only X51 engines. thx Loren, what about the 2005 and beyond 3.6 and 3.8 engines... did they have any type of oiling implements that were not present in the 2002-2004 3.6 engines? Bump to Loren. I am also curious as to 1) are there changes to the M97 that make this modification unnecessary and 2) if not, can this kit be installed on the M97? Cheers, From the 997 Technik book... "The 911 Carrera engine employs a mechanical vacuum pump instead of a conventional sucking jet pump to provide the vacuum for the brake booster. This pump is driven in tandem configuration together with the oil extraction pump of the right cylinder head by the exhaust camshaft of the right cylinder bank. This design enables a high and constant level of vacuum supply and subsequent effective brake boost even when the most unfavorable underlying conditions apply, e.g. low external air pressure at high altitudes, and in highly dynamic driving involving a high proportion of full-load operation, e.g. on race tracks." Thank you for the reply. I now understand that there is a different pump used on the M97 vs. M96 and that it should provided superior vacuum for brake boost, but what does this mean for the oiling system. Can a secondary return line, similar to the PMNA part for the M96, be installed on the M97? It appears that this revised "tandem pump" makes use of the old M96 pump impossible, but is there a way to add a similar return line? Is this already built into the head/valve cover? Cheers Sorry, I misunderstood what you were asking. Here is what Porsche has to say about the oil system changes for the 997 series. "Oil supply/oil level measurement The oil supply system as a whole has been adopted from the predecessor model. A change applies in the area of oil level measurement. Following on from positive experiences with electrical oil level measurement and a changeover in measuring habits away from manual measurement via the oil dipstick to electrical oil level measurement, the new 3.6 and 3.8 litre engines do not have an oil dipstick. In order to speed up the process of measuring the oil level in certain operating states and in the interests of measuring convenience, map compensation has been introduced. Previously, all of the engine oil had to return to the oil pan after the engine was shut off before the oil level could be measured. To enable accurate measurement of the oil level, the necessary time required to achieve this state was ensured by means of a waiting time for oil level measurement, determined according to the oil temperature and the length of time the engine has been off. With map compensation, the actual measured oil level in the oil pan is compensated to take account of the oil temperature and the length of time the engine has been off. The oil that has not yet returned to the oil pan is electronically calculated and duly added, and the real oil level is displayed as quickly as possible in the instrument cluster. This results in a substantial reduction in measuring times compared with the previous system"
  12. My Radio is a CR 210...where is the radio serial number? On the back or top of the radio.

  16. Thanks. Any idea of the part number for the 2 button version UK/Euro frequencies please? Blank or order by VIN (the part numbers are different)? Blank remote only please as I can transfer the blade from my broken unit. Have been given a price of 200 GBP approx for full key by VIN. Thanks for any assistance. For a blank key with: I5D1 Carrier frequency 433.92 MHz I4F2 porsche entry + drive I4K3 Central-locking system with key remote, interior operation and "Safe" mode 955.637.244.24.01C Blank key in satin black -- US MSRP $128.25
  17. That is it. Just cut an "X" and pass your wires through it.
  18. Wiggle the ignition switch - if anything changes or happens then you likely need a new ignition switch.

  20. I think you are missing my point. I do not have a problem with folks recommending good companies - but when companies recommend companies - it looks a lot like self promotion (or coop promotion). This is a non-commercial site - there is no advertising here and people are not allowed to promote their products or services here - unless responding to questions. The board rules clearly state "No commercial posting, signatures, or profile statements (including images) are allowed. Please understand "advertisements" will be either edited or deleted, as it's neither "fair" to those who support this site - nor "us", the RennTech.org community.". And, I ask that folks respect the rules. There are plenty of "other" Porsche sites out there that have plenty advertising by both reputable and non-reputable companies. Renntech.org strives to be a step above all that.
  21. If you don't have PCM 3.0 then the old one for the 997-1 might work. http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=11812 If you do have PCM 3.0 then I think it is a new ball game.
  22. How do I know what faceplate/security code the car had from the factory? Well, it is either a cassette (CR-210) or CD player (CDR-220). You might even be able to find a cheap CDR-220 on eBay. They show up there every so often.
  23. Thanks - but this has been posted here a couple times before.
