  1. I think you have to ask why Porsche says to replace them. They don't say this on every bolt or part.
  2. For MY99 Tip you will need a cluster from a MY99 or MY00 Carrera with Tip. It could be from a C4 (of those model years) but it would need to be re-programmed. Your best choice would be part number: 996.641.104.03.70C
  3. :welcome: Please give our Search a try next time... Most of the info you need is here.
  4. Only your dealer can look those up for you. When I spoke to the dealer, he said that he checked the computer and that nothing was listed so that meant that all the TSB's had been done. Does that sound right? My gut being in the technology business is that it would have listed the TSB's that had been completed to date. Any insight would be appreciated. That would only be "required" TSBs, Workshop Campaigns and Recalls. He would have to look through all the service records to see the "not required" TSB work. Many TSBs are done on as "as needed" basis.
  5. PST2 is a very old program on a very old OS. Yes, some of the pins are unique - if you want all the functionality.
  6. Remember some relays are optional.

Sorry to be an amature, but how do I find this TSB? Haven't quite mastered this application and searching seems to not yield the results. Thanks B) Go to the top drop down menu "DIY Menu" - > choose "Current TSBs" -> find you model car and click on the link for a listing of all TSBs for that model. You can use the search at the bottom to find a specific TSB by subject, number or date.
  8. Just drive it - it will likely clear itself.
  9. Try 1012 or 1010 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  10. :welcome: Have them check it again - could be as simple as a broken weld in a muffler. Or, it could be worse - I assume you got a Porsche 2 year warranty on the engine?
  11. Last time I looked into this the IBM 600E is a good laptop because is color, faster, supports windows 3.11. Parts for and the laptop itself are very cheap right now on ebay. I agree that will work too.
  12. TSB 8/97 6 6157 Installation of Tonneau Cover -- dated 10-16-97 All Porsche TSBs are available here to our Contributing Members. If you would like to become a Contributing Member just click on any "Donate" link.
  13. Make sure whatever laptop you move it to - that you can get video drivers for Windows 3.1.1 (yes, before Windows 95). Some of the old Toshiba's are good for this. Chances are you will have to make a longer cable.
  14. If your car is a US car then it likely does not have the tilt sensor (M536).
  15. You will just need to match keys and immobilizer of the same frequency.
  16. Yes and know. If you have have a history of this complaint then a good dealer would certainly fix it for free.
  17. I do not know the law in the US but I am sure there is a reason that the US uses 315 MHz and most of Europe uses 433 MHz. If you live in the US try some other salvage yards like Oklahoma Foreign or Silver Star Recycling.
  18. The RoW version won't work for you - wrong frequency.
  19. thanks Loren...did you mean brown wire is ground? Yes, I have corrected it. Must have still been asleep when I was typing...
  20. Your dealer will have your IPAS security codes for your car. The other key fob might work.
  21. You will need all of your keys unique 24 digit code and your cars IPAS codes. If you do not have the codes for the old keys and the dealer can not get that information - then you will need new key(s).
