    I doubt the dealer does their own paint work - few do. Ask them who does there work and get 2 or 3 quotes from reputable body shops.

    What was the airbag fault code(s)? (there are TSBs on specific codes).

    :welcome: Maybe time to find a new dealer - if the CEL is on there are fault codes. Find a shop with a PST or PIWIS tester and have the codes read - then report back here.

    Yes or if you can find the right metric studs use them (most muffler shops have these). Both are cheap.

    Yes, that location seems to have a * before and after the VIN.

    It's been covered here before a few times. It is inside the front latch mechanism.

    I have a June 1999 build Carrera and it is a MY1999. So, perhaps you just accidentally got a MY99 VIN assigned to a MY98 car - talk about being the last one off the production line for that (model) year. There were almost no changes for MY98 to MY99 so very little differences.

    Very interesting that your VIN says it is a MY99 and Porsche's database says MY98...
