  1. Thanks Loren. That's exactly what I thought, X74. The car looks like it came from the factor with US M030 suspension. What color are the M030 shocks? Are the anti roll bars for the US M030 and X74 the same? What is the significance of the red brake calipers? They look like stock 996 calipers but the red paint looks factory. Factory X74 retrofit lowers the C2 40mm in the front and 30mm in the rear. If it is a factory X74 kit - then it should be on the option list. Swaybars are the same for M030 and X74. Brake calipers colors on a C2 are mostly irrelevant - black, red, and silver are all the same size. Yellow would be PCCB (ceramic).
  2. Change it out with a known good one.

  4. Looks like an X74 package to me (only ones I know that are yellow). See if you can find a part number on a strut.
  5. You will need the Durametric software, a PST2 or PIWIS tester.
  6. :welcome: Did the previous owner give you all three keys ? One valet key and two keys with fob. Please do a Search here as this issue has been covered many time. Do a reset and make sure you have a new battery, then dealer reprogramming and/or key replacement is needed.
  7. How do you know the AC Hack temperatures are what the DME is seeing? You need to look at what the DME is seeing with a PST2 or PIWIS.
  8. Under the plastic cover near the right front strut (near the pollen filter). You will need a Torx driver to remove the bolt that holds the plastic cover on
  9. Very possibly - you need to check the air flow at idle and 2500 RPM to confirm.
  10. Sorry, without the ID tag the key is worthless.
  11. Any of the tools mentions above will tell you exactly where in the alarm system the problem is.
  12. Try 5850 or 5848 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  13. Check triggering wire for short to ground. 1. Connect special tool 9637 to wiring harness (DME control module connector). 2. Remove connector of actuator. 3. Connect ohmmeter to pin V/1 and ground. Display: infinite ohms If 0 - 5 ohms is displayed, check wiring for chafing and pinching damage. Check B+ supply of actuator. 1. Remove connector of actuator. 2. Connect voltmeter to connector, pin 1, and ground. Switch on the ignition. Display: battery voltage Check triggering wire for continuity. 1. Connect special tool 9637 to wiring harness (DME control module connector). 2. Remove connector of actuator. 3. Connect ohmmeter to special tool 9637, pin V/1, and connector, pin 2. Display: 0 - 5 ohms

  19. Yes, Sunset Imports ships parts. Just click on the link at the top center of the forum. You won't find a better price on genuine Porsche parts - anywhere. Tell them RennTech.org sent you.
  20. 986.561.572.01 has a US MSRP of $58.16 Chances are you can get it for much less from Sunset Imports (Porsche Parts at Dealer Cost).
  21. I usually bleed the clutch also - you already have everything there to do it. Maybe another 10-15 minutes at the most.

  24. the injectors were swapped, same result... maybe the vario-cam system could be damaged but can it be only for one cylinder? As RFM said - Use a PIWIS diagnostic tool to find out. Everything is just a guess without proper diagnostic tools.
