  1. The ABS/PSM needs to be re-coded with a PST2 or PIWIS tester.
  2. 996.107.183.03 Guide tube -- US MSRP $38.28 999.707.385.40 O-ring -- US MSRP $0.77
  3. What is the radio model please? (that does not sound like a Porsche/Becker radio).
  4. I must admit that the article from LN Engineering went right over my head. Here in Europe, Porsche dealers use Mobile 1 5W-50 Rally Formula (w/Supersyn Antiwear) on our Boxsters. I have not seen much mention of this oil. I know, from this and other articles, that higher numbers does not make it a better fit. How is this oil regarded among the experts? A. Mobil 1 5W-50 is a Porsche approved oil. You can check the "Approved Oils" TSB in the Current TSBs section.
  5. Try 7375 ot 7373 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  6. :welcome: One beep is an alarm fault. Two beeps is either multiple zones open or an alarm problem. Best to have the alarm controller scanned with the Durametric software, a PST2, or PIWIS tester.
  7. Try 4699 or 4697 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST Unfortunately it didn't work :-( Please read the FAQ.
  8. Flasher relay 1H0.953.227 -- US MSRP $16.61 Only other possibility i can think of is the headlight switch as relay connections go through it. You might try (with the old relay) switching the headlights and seeing if that makes any difference.
  9. Are you sure the clip is not part of the light? I do not see separate part? BTW... the light is only $8.40 US MSRP.
  10. Try 4699 or 4697 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  11. Yes, position 1 and 2 may be empty.
  12. Above the fuse panel in the lower left footwell.
  13. If your car already had the 986.606.125.00 then the 986.606.125.01 will also work fine as your DME has already been updated. Do not use 986.606.124.00.
  14. Check your flasher relay - position 3 in the relay panel (that would be the 3rd relay from the left on the top row.
  15. Richard is correct - Sorry, I misspoke and confused CP with GP.
  16. Try 3601 or 3599 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST Unfortunately it didn't work :-( M. Please read the FAQ.
  17. What diagram were you on? I don't have time to look through them all.
  18. It is a ground to chassis - usually soldered.
  19. The relays for the fans above the footwell fusebox. Relay postion: 19 - Fan 1 Stage 1 20 - Fan 1 Stage 2 21 - Fan 2 Stage 1 22 - Fan 2 Stage 2
  20. Wait - he calibrated the top and didn't check the microswitches for actuation? There is a section to test those. The alarm problem would have to register a fault in the alarm section. I think perhaps you should find another shop.
  21. 993 TSBs were prior to Porsche providing them as electronic data. So they are (for the most part) in paper form that would need to be scanned before they would be available for viewing. Is there something in particular that you are looking for? Loren, Thanks for your prompt response. I am close to buying a 1996 993TT, 1 owner car that has been serviced by shops as well as the local dealer. I know there were some updates but I am looking to verify all updates from Porsche were done. Can a dealer pull this up by VIN on a 1996? If so, I assume the dealer would not be interested in sharing the info with me as I don't own the car. I also understand that Porsche will "always" do Porsche updates regardless of the age and current owner of the car? I am just trying to be an educated buyer and the car is 1500 miles away. Before I fly to view the car I would like to know as much up front as possible. I am trying to get a sense for any potential problem areas. The owner doesn't seem to be a good historian. Thanks for your help. Yes, any Porsche dealer should be able to bring up the service history - of all items done by a Porsche dealer. For privacy reasons they can not give you a copy but they should be able to "tell" you what was done. The only updates they are "required" to do are recalls. Everything else is optional. If you PM me the car's VIN I can get you a report of the factory options on the car.
  22. 996.107.150.61 Filler tube -- US MSRP $36.88 and you will need 999.707.348.40 O-ring -- US MSRP $3.85 and a small amount of engine assembly grease (Lubriplate) - if you have a B&M short shifter - that is the same grease that came with the kit.
