  1. Do a search here for cluster bulbs. Chances are you just have a bulb out.
  2. Exact model and year of your car please?
  3. They will need to hook the PIWIS tester and get the actual fault codes.
  4. 1 relay (position 10) and 1 fuse (25A). I would put in an aftermarket horn like the Griots. Fairly simple to wire in and use the existing relay and fuse.
  5. The engine compartment purge fan rarely comes on. Mine has only come on twice -- and I live in 90 plus degree California! Here are the conditions the fan comes on at. From the service manual... "Switch-on conditions for engine compartment fan (this fan pulls air into the engine compartment) The engine compartment fan is switched on when the engine compartment temperature is > 176 degrees F or the coolant temperature is > 216 degrees F. After-running of engine compartment fan If the ignition is switched off and the engine compartment temperature is more than 140 degrees F, the DME control module remains in readiness for another 20 minutes. During this time, the engine compartment temperature is retrieved every 10 seconds. If the engine compartment temperature is > 185 degrees F , the engine compartment fan is switched on for 20 seconds. If the engine compartment temperature is still > 185 degrees F after this time, the fan remains on for a further 30 seconds."
  6. Please read this and follow the instructions... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST Radio code request will only be answered in the thread listed at the end of the FAQ. This topic is closed.
  7. Have you tried searching? What do you want to do?
  8. This is a different radio than the one you requested in Feb 2009?
  9. You asked for a diagram of the 996TT headlight pins - that is what I posted. Hi can yo tell me if the wiring diagram you posted for the 996 tt is the same as in the carrera 2 pre fcelift? if not do you have it? No, the early 996 and facelift 996 use different headlights. Please do a search on the site for facelift conversions and headlights.
  10. Sorry, you will need to be more specific about which part you are talking about.
  11. There are several types. One hole or two hole? Smoker or non-smoker version? Most are about $34.06 MSRP. Sunset Porsche (Porsche Parts at Dealer Cost) is the best online source - link at the top right of any page.
  12. On the older cars (MY99-MY01) I think you can go stiffer and lower but you will want to check for stress cracks and wear - especially if you track the car.
  13. Hmm... are these rotors for your car? You are not trying to put Boxster S rotors on a normal Boxster are you? A normal Boxster (front) rotor is 24 mm new. A Boxster S rotor is 28 mm new. I don't think the normal Boxster calipers will fit over an S rotor.
  14. 1. Check for the cracks as mentions and also check the rotor thickness. IMHO - if the rotor thickness is at below spec then you definitely need to replace the rotors. 2. If they are too thin they will overheat and braking will be less effective. If htere are cracks then they could fracture and do more damage. 3. The warning light tells you that you have worn through the sensor wire (so the sensors will need to be replaced also) and the pads are very near metal on metal. You have a little time but the light is a call to action - for very soon.
  15. I agree - the US 2004 model press release said: "A 205-mph (330 km/h) track speed Porsche supercar, a car some already are calling the Porsche for purists, and cabriolet models of the 911 Carrera 4S and the 911 Turbo join the Porsche parade for the 2004 model year."
  16. :welcome: Look on the cars option sticker (usually stapled in the maintenance book). Look for option I1G8. If it is there then the car had it at one time.
  17. :welcome: 1. Pretty normal for flat six engines - especially if the car has set for a few days. 2. Yes, single mass flywheel will make for a rough/rattling idle until the clutch is depressed. 997 GT3 RS is as close to a "street-able' race as you can get. 3. fairly normal - if leaks more than a few drops overnight you likely want to fix it. Porsche approved oil(s) for this car include: Castrol Edge 0W-40 or 5W-40 Edge Sport 0W-40 Formula RS Road and Track 5W-40 Formula RS Motorsport 0W-40
  18. Porsche fault 169 = P1551 Idle Air Control Valve Closing Coil - Open Circuit P1552 Idle Air Control Valve Closing Coil - Below Lower Limit P1553 Idle Air Control Valve Closing Coil - Above Upper Limit Potential causes: - Break in wiring. - lAC valve faulty. - DME control module faulty. I would remove the Idle Control Valve inspect and clean it - it should move freely. If it is really gummed up or does not react to 12 volts then it needs to be replaced. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tip fault 55 = P1710 Speed signal, front right -. signal implausible Potential causes: - ABS control unit - Tiptronic control module - Wiring ABS fault 4200 Front right speed sensor wire Potential cause: Front right speed sensor, open circuit, short to ground/short to B+ In this case it looks like your right front ABS speed (wheel) sensor is either disconnected or bad.
  19. Porsche changed the clutch (pedal) spring at least four times as I recall. Your MY03 should have either the last one or next to last one. Look for binding either on the pedal shaft or the spring mechanism. You can disconnect the spring and see if that is the problem.
  20. I'm also doing my research on the parts kit numbers for my 96, which is a 1999 C2 Tiptronic. So far I've found that the ROW M030 kit is 000 044 500 19. But I would like to find out the kit number for X74 for my car. Can anyone tell me the correct X74 kit number for my car? Thanks! Porsche does not recommend X74 for cars older than MY2002. In MY02 Porsche strengthened the chassis for the stiffer sport suspensions. I see. ok, that would definitely make a difference. But is the X74 really much firmer than M030 such that the earlier chassis can't take the increase in suspension stiffness? Yes, that is why Porsche does not recommend it. You won't find X74 part number for your model year car - because X74 was not made for your model year car. You can try another kit - but you are on your own and be aware that unmatched suspension components can cause unusual and strange handling problems (not to mention tire wear). Hi Loren, ok, I undestand. But is 000 044 500 33 the full X74 kit for '02-'04 996 RWD Coupe Tiptronic? Thanks. No that is the RoW M030 kit. 000 044 500 35 is the X74 kit for a 2WD Coupe.
  21. Try 4384 or 4392 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  22. 1. Turn center console, unlock electrical plug A and pull from the socket. 2. Unlock socket and pull out of the center console. Install is the reverse.
  23. The pedal stays stuck half-way? If so, lubricate the clutch spring on the pedal.
