  1. DME 7.2 (your MY00) has 40 pins on connector 4 -- and a DME7.8 (MY03 harness) has 48 pins on connector 4 (D). So they will not match up in number of pins for the connector. Sorry.
  2. Behind the wheel well liner. Under the fender - close to the door jam.
  3. The control units talk to each other - both need to be present. The keys are a precaution.
  4. All of the windshield washer and headlight washer components are behind the left front wheel well liner.
  5. No - MY2000 was DME 7.2 (prior to VarioCan Plus) and MY04 DME 7.8 with VarioCam Plus.
  6. Correct. In the case of IMS or RMS there really isn't anywhere else it can come out at.
  7. I answered your post int he other thread - please post the same topic in one thread only.
  8. Folks you rally need to put the Durametric software, a PST2 or PIWIS tester on the car to find alarm system faults. Could be a bad ignition switch or a failing alarm control box - you won't know until you run the tests and look at the fault codes.
  9. Loren...could you please send me this TSB? Thanks You are a Contributing Member and can view that TSB here online. You want TSB 7/01 6102 Noises in the Hardtop -- dated Mar 22, 2002. http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?a...load&id=116 I would love to see the link thanks You need to be a Contributing Member to view TSBs here. 10. Likely got wet and has corrosion or damage inside.
  11. If you have an oil leak from the area where the engine and transmission join - you won't know the cause until you remove the (transmission and) flywheel. The leak could be either or both IMS and RMS.
  12. Ok this should be the right image now.
  13. Way too many codes - I would clear them and see which ones come back.
  14. Different engine, different headers, different mufflers = different cats.
  15. Try 7286 or 7284 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  16. Other than the short wiring harness extensions - every car gets a custom wiring harness from the factory that is dependent on the car's options.
  17. As long as the car is programmed for US emissions you will need all 4 sensors (before and after cats) to be allowed to clear the code. You can program the car (for track purposes) to only look at the after cat sensors. You would need a PST2 or PIWIS tester and your IPAS codes to do that.
  18. The air temperature sensor is on the right side of the engine.
  19. For the most part Porsche says it is okay to use the larger diameter exhaust parts from the 3.5 liter on a 3.4 liter - but not the other way around. So, that is not recommended by Porsche.
  20. Your original MAF was a 996.606.124.00. Your car is egas (MY200 on) so 996.606.123.00 will not work in your car. If your car now has a 996.606.125.00 or 996.606.125.01 then it has been reprogrammed for that (newest style) MAF. You need a 996.606.125.01 for your car.
  21. The DME and alarm control box work together to protect your car. The alarm control has to have each key programmed to it. To program the keys/alarm controller you need the DME, the alarm controller, ALL of the keys (with their unique codes), your unique IPAS codes and a PST2 or PIWIS tester.
  22. If all you did was change the steering wheel (and you marked the old position and aligned the new wheel on the spines) then there is no reason for the car to pull to one side.
