  1. Read the TSB 9/04 6963 Airbag Warning Light On- Fault Code 1217 and 1218 dated Jun 7, 2005
  2. Yes, that will put less stress on the other mount.
  3. Loosen and/or remove the nut (item 4).
  4. Sorry, please read the Lost Radio Code FAQ. My program only works on those models. Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  5. Loose and/or remove the left rear motor mount - lower the engine using a jack just enough to let the tank clear (less than 2 inches).
  6. Sorry, as the FAQ states the code program only works on Porsche/Becker CR-210, CR-220/CDR-220.
  7. Try 6401 or 6399 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  8. I did not say that - I do not know the cost - Porsche does not sell the paper manuals any longer. You can only buy the (PDF) manual section from Porsche at $1.10 each (there are thousands of sections in the manuals) -- or you can get a subscription to Porsche PIWIS Online for $5200.00 per year.
  9. The 3.6 liter engines use DME 7.8 and have VarioCam Plus.
  10. When you put the short shifter in (Porsche or B&M) you remove the green "coin deflector". There is no room for it on the short shifter install.
  11. P1539 Camshaft Adjustment, Bank 2 Actuator triggered, no active position. Possible causes: - Open circuit in triggering wire. - Open circuit in B+ supply. - Actuator faulty.
  12. See the diagram at the right of the image - that is how to measure. Read the scale in mm. Check against specs (posted here elsewhere).
  13. Try 2439 or 2437 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  14. My money is on a dying fuel pump. When it is hot, it is failing. My 986S track car did the same thing. If I let it cool - sometimes that was a couple of hours - it would start. When hot, I had to pump the pedal, and then it sputtered, coughed and backfired. It would run at idle no problem, but when it demanded more pressure, no go. Longer I let it go, the worse it got. It is an easy DIY-er BTW. Have you looked at where the filter sits? It is behind 2 huge cooling pipes running along the length of the car! Not on MY02 and newer Carrera. There is one filter inside the tank on MY02 and newer that never needs changed unless there is some sort of contamination of the fuel tank.
  15. You should be able to get rotor thickness in mm. Just put on each side of the rotor and then find the "thinnest" spot. That would be your measurement for acceptable rotor thickness/wear.
  16. Item 4 - 996.504.043.02 Center cover -- US MSRP $111.61
  17. Spark Plug Change Instructions
  18. What year make and model of your car is this? I'm wondering if your car is an E-GAS model or not. 2002 according to his profile. You can see the egas throttle body in the first pic in the first post.
  19. I have seen it happen - if the spark plug is loose enough then air from the compression stroke leaks out and makes a sharp chirping sound.
  20. Try 5640 or 5638 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  21. Please read this and follow the instructions... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST I will only answer radio code request in the thread that is linked at the end of the FAQ. This topic is closed.
  22. It might reset with a battery disconnect for 5 minutes or so. If not you will need a PST2 or PIWIS tester to reprogram the default program into the Tip.
