  1. From the first post and Porsche's service manaul - "Note: All are synthetic GL4 and GL5 rated (or "non-conventional processing") oils. GL oils have good light running properties because of their light low-temperature viscosity as well as a high level of temperature stability."

P1504 Throttle jacking unit, emergency air position - signal implausible Possible fault cause - No adaptation performed - Throttle part Throttle jacking is the egas throttle control on the side of the throttle body. Is it unplugged? Does the throttle butterfly move smoothly? Does it return closed when released?
  3. Sure sounds like a bad headlight switch to me.

P0507 Idle air control at stop - above limit Possible fault cause - Throttle is jammed - Leaks in intake air system P1109 Input variables, charge measurement - above limit Possible fault cause - Heavily soiled throttle - Throttle adjusting unit faulty - Mass air flow sensor faulty P1505 Throttle Jacking Unit, Control Range - Open Circuit Possible fault cause - Open circuit - Short circuit to B+ With all of these fault codes point to the throttle control I would start there. Either something is not plugged in or something is jamming the throttle or there is an air leak.
  5. Don't you think it would be wise to find out why it is on? It is a simple task using the Durametric Software, a PST2 or PIWIS tester.
  6. A car 10 year old car with 140,000 miles will not have like new oil pressure - everything is somewhat worn. If you are using 0W-40 or 0W-50 oil I think your oil pressures are about right for a 140k engine. Depending on how you drive and handle maintenance you could get another 100k out of this car (or more). All IMHO of course.
  7. Well, from my past experience it may growl on low speed turns. My guess is those are likely "R-" radio code and "W-" wheel lock code.
  8. According to the specs it should be fine. You are sure your car has LSD? It was an option then and not many cars had it. If your car does have LSD then I would use the full 4 oz.
  9. The sun sensor is used for the HVAC control. "When the air-conditioning system is operating, all of the control functions of the system are dependent on this ERL (Energy Requirement Level) status variable. The main status variable used to determine the thermal energy requirement in the vehicle (the ERL signal) is derived from the most important parameters: - Nominal temperature of the passenger compartment - Actual temperature of the passenger compartment - Ambient temperature - Solar radiation energy - Air-conditioning compressor on/off. Solar Sensor - The value measured by the solar sensor is combined with the ERL signal taking into consideration "solar radiation/physiology correction" and various time constants."

  11. I think that is for the sun sensor. If you did not have Parkassist that is where it would be. 1. Switch off ignition and remove ignition key. 2. Lift cover on dashboard using plastic spatula (Arrow 2) and unclip (Arrows 1) . 3. Disconnect plug connection for sun sensor and display field. 4. Lift the three cover retaining clips and remove display field.

  18. :welcome: I do not know about other countries but in the US the remained of the manufacturers warranty goes to the current owner.
  19. If you convert to the exact GT2 setup - then it removes it. If you convert to some hybrid by a 3rd party then you will need to check with them.
  20. Fault code 5525 - Incorrect data exchange from DME Possible cause of fault - Fault in data exchange with the DME The manual suggests erasing and seeing if it comes back.
  21. Yes -both Porsche coolants can be mixed.
  22. Sorry, the only know problem cap ends in 00. That does not mean a newer cap will not fail but the 00 caps all fail.
