  1. I would replace the battery - you will need to soon anyway.
  2. Use search words that are as unique to your interest as possible. Words like 'remove' or 'install' would bring up huge results. Be more specific and use the advanced modifiers i.e. 'remove +exhaust' and also narrow to the model specific forum that you want to search. Here is a link to the Advanced Search Help topic. http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?s...mp;CODE=explain
  3. Sorry, it looks like a completely different shape and mechanism.
  4. Please read this and follow the instructions... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST I will only answer radio code requests in the one thread linked at the end of the FAQ. This thread is now closed.
  5. wwest is right - there is a lot of communication going on between the DME, PSM, Tiptronc, and the accelerator pedal position sensor. It is described in great detail in the 2002 (mark 2) Service Information book (available here to our Contributing Members). The Tiptronic (for example) recognizes how quickly the accelerator pedal is released (like in emergency braking, etc.) and uses the engine and transmission for braking. There is much more - the article is more than 7 pages long.
  6. P0700 CE Light on Due to Transmission Fault - (Signal Implausible) Possible fault cause - Fault memory entry in Tiptronic control module due to transmission fault You will need to put a PIWIS tester on the car to find out more. P17105 does not come up on any of my documentation.
  7. Porsche only. 996.615.101.00 Fuel Pump Relay -- US MSRP $17.44
  8. You could try the relay as it is easier to get to - the fuel pump is in the tank.
  9. My information comes from the Porsche DME 7.8/OBD II service manual for MY2002 996 Carrera. Where are you getting your information?
  10. So when it doesn't start the starter cranks but the engine does not fire?
  11. P2096 Signal Delay Time for Oxygen Sensor Ageing - Above Limit P2098 Signal Delay Time for Oxygen Sensor Ageing, Bank 2 – Above Limit Possible fault causes - Oxygen sensor
  12. Loren, Thanks for the prompt reply! Do you have any clue of the cost of the front and rear brake disc, pads and warning contact? In US dollars (MSRP)... front pads - $427.48 set rear pads - $388.71 set front sensors - $34.98 each rear sensors - $34.98 each Are you sitting down? front (PCCB) rotors - $4235.58 each rear (PCCB) rotors - $3853.25 each
  13. Any strange occurrences with the ignition switch? If not, then read the fault code(s).
  14. Same notes apply for your options. 2004_gt3rs_front_brakes.pdf
  15. Your car is a GT3 RS (according to the VIN) with PCCB brakes? Choose the parts with M450 (PCCB) and M004 (RS Street) as your car has those options. 2004_gt3rs_rear_brakes.pdf
  16. Time to put a PST2 or PIWIS tester on the car and find out what is going on. If you were closer I would be happy to have a look.
  17. I meant something like Smarttop for lowering the top while moving.
  18. Try 9180 or 9178 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  19. Do you have an addon mod for the top or doors? Any other strange electrical problems - a bad battery can cause all kinds of oddities.
  20. And this post is the 996 section - so which model are you asking about?
  21. Either a wheel bearing or differential.
  22. Are you asking about just the seats? just the control unit? or ?
  23. :welcome: Get a reader and read the fault codes - they will narrow down the possibilities immensely. Without the codes you are just guessing...
  24. P1124 Oxygen Sensing Adaptation Area 1 (Cylinders 1 - 3) - Rich Threshold P1126 Oxygen Sensing Adaptation Area 1 (Cylinders 4 - 6) - Rich Threshold Possible causes: - Intake air system leaking. - Fuel pressure too low. - Volume supply of fuel pump too low. - Fuel injectors fouled. - Dirty or bad MAF P1602 Voltage Supply - Open Circuit - Battery was disconnected.
