  1. It is under warranty - you describe the problem - they look into it - hopefully they fix it.
  2. Tires (#1 cause), Cardan/drive shaft, front trailing arms. Since you have a warranty - use it.
  3. Try 9215 or 9213 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  4. Owners Suffering from the Cayenne Vibration DEFECT Cayenne Vibration (Very Long) Shaft vibration? Vibration at speed 2004 Cayenne S Center Console Noises Center dash vent airflow issue?
  5. Doesn't the crack criterion apply mostly for PCCB rotors? No - that is from the service manual for steel rotors.
  6. Folks - please do a SEARCH of the Cayenne section here -- these have all been covered in detail.
  7. You need to follow the re-calibration procedure (in the service manual). Otherwise it will fault every time.
  8. Remove the belt and inspect all of your pulleys for wobble. A failed pulley can do major damage to your engine and/or alternator.

  10. I doubt they consider it a "design flaw" as German's tend to do EVERYTHING for a specific reason when it comes to engineering and those silly swiss cheese holes have some purpose unbeknown to us! My parents neigbor got me hooked interested in German cars when I was little with his Audi, Vw and Porsche collection. He used to have a saying that I stole. German doesn't always mean "good engineering" but it does man OVER engineering. They would only look at it as a failure in selecting the wrong quality foam!! Similarly, Saab (obviously not German) had foam shooting out of the events in the 9000 series from 1986-1997 and never cared in those 11 years. I had a 1987 (and wife now has a 1995) 9000 and the foam was shooting out of the air vents when the 1987 car was 3 years old...yet they never cared about this issue to update it as I was surprised the 1995 was doing the same thing. It would be interesting to know if anyone with later model 987 has had any foam shooting out. I have also been surprised at how few have commented on actually doing this procedure when the foam seems to be a common issue with many cars. I cannot image others have taken issue with the diminished heat problem. Are all the cars in the USA in warm climates!?!?! and I still have not received a call from Porsche! :P Maybe Loren could start a poll question for us and inquire the following. Do you have pieces of foam coming out of your air vent? No Yes, 1997 Yes, 1998 Yes, 1999 and so on... and we can then get a feel when if this issue has stopped or how old the car must be before the foam has deteriorated. 11. :welcome: Have you tried locking and unlocking your car with your key? There is a procedure in your Owners Manual to reset the remote alarm timeout.
  12. Did you get the safety code from the Actual Values menu and enter that code?
  13. Sorry, I am not familiar with that series - do you know if the code is 4 digits or 5? it is 5 digits Choice for numbers is only between 1 and 7 (don't know if that helps) Try 64667
  14. Sorry, I am not familiar with that series - do you know if the code is 4 digits or 5?
  15. Yes, the schematic for the Halogens says 'see the Xenon diagram' (for this model year).
  16. Can you monitor it with your tester and see if it is on both banks? or just one? I doubt the MAF would change but the RKAT on one bank might indicate a cam solenoid irregularity.
  17. Are you sure you are not just feeling the VarioCam Plus switch over. That causes a slight hesitation. If you had a cam actuator problem I think you would also have fault codes.
  18. Try 0568 or 0566 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  19. I would stick with the genuine Porsche part - they have a warranty.

  21. I would not drive the car. You may have cracked the case or oil pan cover.
  22. :welcome: The most common cause of this type of noise is a loose swaybar mount.
  23. You will need a PST2 or PIWIS tester and your car's IPAS codes.
  24. I think I would try a re-program of the DME before buying a new one.
