  1. It all comes down to whether your present options have the wiring already needed for the option - if not, it will be real expensive and some dealers won't do it. Ask your dealer for a quote - and make sure you are sitting down when you read it. ;)
  2. 996.555.061.00.xxx Seat belt rosette (where xxx is the lacquer color) A03 = black C53 = graphite grey S33 = savanna G13 = metropole blue B13 = space grey J33 = nephrite green M33 = boxster red P13 = cinnamon brown US MSRP $20.19 (so I am sure Sunset will be much less)
  3. I think you are talking about item 16 - or do you mean the whole panel 15? You will need to tell what color leather too.
  4. Porsche sells an option Music Player Interface for the 997-1. The kit is: 997.044.901.77 -- US MSRP $394.98 "The music player interface has the following main features: • Discrete installation position in the center console storage bin • Connection for external music players (iPod®, MP3 player, etc.) • Standard connection socket for 3.5-mm jack plug • Battery charge function for the iPod® • Volume control via PCM • Music tracks can be selected using an external music player The standard plug socket in the center console storage bin is no longer used when the music player interface is installed." There is a TSB here (available to our Contributing Members) on how to install the kit.
  5. :welcome: You are correct about the front bumper. Sorry, but the side skirts are different.
  6. Try 9504 or 9502 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  7. Try 2782 or 2780 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  8. :welcome: Hmm... they still show as available in my October 2009 parts list. Perhaps try the folks at Sunset Imports (Porsche Parts at Dealer Cost) (link at top right of page) and verify what Stoddard said.
  9. The emergency release cable is in the right front fender well.
  10. P1092 MAF sensor (HFM2) – below limit value Possible cause of fault - Open circuit in signal wire - Open circuit in sensor voltage - Short circuit to ground in signal wire - Short circuit to ground in sensor voltage - MAF sensor faulty - DME control module faulty
  11. Durametric, PST and PIWIS testers all work with most OBD 2 complaint vehicles. PST2 and PIWIS are Porsche tools (read very expensive) and Durametric is a 3rd party tool specifically made for Porsches. Durametric
  12. Should be the same as the coupe.
  13. :welcome: P2096 Signal Delay Time for Oxygen Sensor Aging - Above Limit Possible fault cause - Oxygen sensor
  14. P0491 Secondary Air Injection System, Bank 1 - Insufficient Flow P0492 Secondary Air Injection System, Bank 2 - Insufficient Flow Possible cause of fault - Electrical fault in power supply or line between relay and secondary air injection pump - Secondary air injection pump relay mechanically faulty - Mechanical fault in electrical secondary air valve - Pneumatic secondary air valve faulty/sluggish - Electrical fault in secondary air injection pump - Mechanical fault in secondary air injection pump or secondary air injection pump blocked - Vacuum system leaking - Air hose to secondary air injection pump slipped off or constricted Check the connector (perhaps they left it unplugged) then fuse (40A on relay panel near DME).
  15. Please try our search - this has been covered many many many times. You will need the Durametric software, a PST2 or PIWIS tester to turn the airbag light off. More important you need to read the fault codes as to why the light turned on in the first place and correct the problem that caused the fault.
  16. :welcome: The tan line does look like the sun roof drain. Pour a little water in the track of the open sun roof and see where it goes.
  17. RMS = Rear Main Seal IMS = Intermediate Shaft Seal No erosion that I can see that is an inspection point and dirt. That is the flywheel gear that are used by the starter motor.
  18. Between the engine and transmission joint? If so it is likely the RMS or IMS -- both very common leaks especially on the older cars. Transmission will need to come out to repair the seals. Check the clutch while you are there for oil or wear. Could save you money down the road.
  19. Looks easier - just need to pretension the spring.
  20. Best thing to do is to clean off everything you see - then take the car for a short test drive and then inspect to find the origin.
  21. Besides cleaning the throttle body look for loose or damaged hoses on the intake. If you have a fault code reader verify that there are no pending fault codes.
