  1. I agree a throw out bearing and possibly the lever actuator if it has never been replaced. Porsche upgraded the throw out lever arm after MY99.
  2. MSRP $18.96 each I think I paid $8.23 each from Sunset Imports last year (Porsche Parts at Dealer Cost) - see the link at the top right.
  3. Try 2542 or 2540 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  4. Search is your friend... How to remove fuel filler door
  5. Exchange MSRP $4575.14 plus installation.
  6. Not really - you will need a tool like the Durametric software, a PST2 or PIWIS to get actual sensor readings.
  7. Thanks Tool Pants and Loren. I ordered a new buckle and wiring harness from Sunset yesterday. I'm going to experiment with the spray before I install the new buckle. If it works, will the light reset automatically? I'll post the results. Sorry, but you will need Durametic, PST2, or PIWIS tester to reset the airbag light.
  8. Outside temperature is a function of the OBC - which is present whether you have the stalk or not. In MY99 there was a separate cluster for Canadian cars that displayed temperatures in degrees C.
  9. Most popping out gear problems are not cable or linkage - in most cases they are worn synchros. This would require a replacement transmission or a rebuild. Unless you are looking for a "project car" I would pass on this as there are much better used Boxsters out there (IMHO).
  10. Both the nut and Torx screw are 3 ftlb. (which is not very much).
  11. Try Eric at bumperplugs.com
  12. Loren and other gurus, I know this is an old thread but a lot of good information in here. I recently got a good deal on some new staggered 18X8 and 18X10 with 225/40/18 and 265/35/18 mounted on them. These are the new Turbo design knock-offs which the sellers guarantees t Boxster fitment. Of course he didn't mention the need for spacers. In any case I want to mount them on MY99 Boxster. In looking at the TSB 4440 that you recommended, the table on page 4 mentions nothing about spacers for this setup. It does mention that Snow Chains cannot be fitted and there is also footnote 6 concerning parking brake cables. Am I missing something here? I KNOW I need some kind of spacers for the rears because when I dry-fitted them, the rims were right up against the struts (I replaced my struts w/ RoW030 if that makes a difference). I also found other threads here that other people used different size spacers (7mm) that are not called out in the TSB. I am looking for a little guidance on what I would need to make these rims fit properly and more importantly safely. Thanks in advanced for you help, Hung What are the offsets of the new wheels? Loren, I was told the offset is 50 and the guys at the tire shop insists that they've installed the same rims on Boxsters before. Unfortunately, I bought these online so I can't bring the car to these guys. I don't know if that's for all four rims or not. I couldn't find stamps of rim size or offset. Is it possible for both fronts and rears to have same offset? Thanks, Hung The front rears should have different offsets (on 18" wheels). If they are Porsche wheels they will be marked on the wheels.

  15. This thread is going down the road of "how to steal a Porsche" and hence will be closed. Further attempts to revive this thread (like starting a new one with the same topic) will result in a ban from this site.

  17. Interesting enough Valvoline is still on the approved list for the Cayenne V6 but not for the rest of Porsche's line. This list changes most often once a year but in some cases more than once per year. If you have warranty on your car I would suggest it makes sense use only Porsche "approved" oils. That way there can never be any warranty question that you took "proper" care of the car. If you are out of warranty you can use whatever oil you like.
  18. Please read the FAQ - we can only help with CR and CDR series Becker?Porsche radios.
  19. Try 2812 or 2810 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  20. Transponder and metal key is all you need to do. Everything else will work as before.
  21. The Pennzoil Synthetic 5W-40 is Porsche approved the Valvoline is not. 5W-50 is approved oil also - not 20W-50.
  22. If you are looking for MY2004 I uploaded a clear image. Different model years may have different fuse assignments. I already posted a MY98 as you requested in your original thread.
  23. Loren, This seems to a reference back to the same thread. I too would like to solve the 'wind noise' problem on my 1999 Cab. My hood is also riding high compared to the front. Yes, as I said if the front hood sits up higher than the front bumper - you will likely get wind noise. You may have adjustment in the rubber stops at the hood and/or the bumper will need to be adjusted so that it is even or just slightly higher than the front hood.
