  1. Please have the car owner make the request. Thanks.
  2. P0342 Camshaft Position Sensor, Bank 1 – Below Limit Possible cause of fault - Short circuit to ground in signal wire - Camshaft position sensor, bank 1 faulty - DME control module faulty
  3. Several options like Compass, Logbook, etc., etc. are now charged for items. Your dealer/OPC must get an authorization number from Porsche AG in order activate these options. Porsche sets the "Suggested Price".
  4. Try 8276 or 8274 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  5. 1. Intercoolers, turbos, muffler, clutch, and perhaps more... 2. There is definitely a difference from an X50 car to a normal TT (IMHO). 3. I doubt a Porsche center would do it - they have to warranty their work. A 3rd party Porsche shop might do it but I would try to find one that has done it before. 4. PCCB advantages are light weight, fast response, little or not fading under extreme loads, and long life (under normal conditions). Disadvantages are replacement cost - very high. It might be less expensive to sell your TT and find an X51 TT or TT S.
  6. Jesus, the price went up $347, $60 over night. No there are two options: Option 1 -- $287 * 1 Durametric Diagnostic cable that plugs into your computer's USB port at one end and the following cars on the other end: 1996-1998 Porsche 993 1997-2004 Porsche Boxster(986) 2005-2008 Porsche Boxster(987) 1999-2004 Porsche 911 (996) 2005-2008 Porsche 911 (997) 2003-2007 Porsche Cayenne(955) 2006-2008 Porsche Cayman (987) * Software CD * Installation instructions * Future software updates * High quality, blow-molded storage case Option 2 -- $347 This option includes the round OBD II connector for the older Porsches. (BTW... Porsche does not even sell this connector/cable any more so this had to be custom made) Choose this option if you have a Porsche 928, 944S2, 968, 964 or 1994-1995 Porsche 993 with a round diagnostic connector. This kit also supports Porsche Boxster (986 and 987), Carrera 911 (996 and 997), Cayman, Cayenne, and/or 1996-1998 Porsche 993.
  7. For a 2003 C4S front brake pads you need: 996.351.949.12 For a 2003 C4S rear brake pads you need: 996.352.949.03 996.352.949.03 and 996.352.939.03 are for a C2 (which has smaller brakes).
  8. It is a Security Torx 20.
  9. :welcome: Please do a search as this items has been covered many times. On MY01 and later Boxsters with the newer style instrument cluster you must add the OBC stalk or a switch to see anything in the display.
  10. Water pump is at the bottom of the belt. I would remove the belt - check all the pulleys for wobble. Could be any one of them idlers, water pump, alternator...
  11. You will need to have the fault codes read to see if there is a potential problem. The DME can automatically clear any CEL if the conditions that cause the CEL have been corrected.
  12. Under the drivers seat is the rear control unit. Look for a Black/Blue wire from A22 of the rear control unit.
  13. I should have looked this up earlier -- sorry. From the 2001 996TT Service Information Book "Two-speed engine compartment scavenging blower To prevent components from heating up excessively especially as a result of radiated heat from the exhaust system, the fuel pump relay immediately activates the engine compartment scavenging blower (stage 1) if the engine is running at idling speed or if the ignition is switched on ( for longer than 1 sec.). Stage 2 is actuated by the engine compartment temperature sensor. Caution! Safety note: Special care must be taken when working on components in the engine compartment with the engine running or with the ignition switch on. Switching stages: 1st stage: Ignition ON (for longer than 1sec.) or engine running (actuated by fuel pump relay via booster resistance cable). 2nd stage: At coolant temperature of approx. 105 °C or engine compartment temperature of approx. 78 °C (OFF at approx. 60 °C). After-run phase: Requirement: Engine compartment temperature with ignition OFF > 25 °C After-run ON: For 3 minutes at engine compartment temperature > 78 °C. The switch-on condition of > 78 °C is then checked every 10 seconds. The after-run phase is active for max. 40 minutes."
  14. Sorry, my mistake - should be 996.628.144.00 Right trim cover with nozzle -- US MSRP $48.12
  15. The only one listed for 2008 is: 997.424.983.00 Short Shifter -- US MSRP $504.98
  16. Try 3117 or 3115 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST Loren, 3117 and 3115 did not work. Any more numbers to try? Thanks! PLEASE read the FAQ.
  17. Technically not a radio but a NAV system. Did you check the fuse on the back of the unit?
  18. Try 0483 or 0481 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  19. What is the model number on the front of the radio? (i.e. CDR-220)
  20. Unless you have very small hands - the front bumper will need to come off. A good time to clean the radiators while you have it off.
  21. Yes you can buy just the cap. 996.631.174.00 Mounting cap (right) -- US MSRP $93.72 To put this in perspective a whole headlight has a MSRP of $2112.26 each
  22. I buy Mobil 1 0W-40 at Autozone. Either of the two oils you mention are approved by Porsche. Check out the next Work on Cars Day in your area - when i lived in the bay area we had 1 or 2 women each WOCD days doing everything from oil changes, to brakes, to short shifter installs. Some of them could out wrench many of the guys. There is a an oil change DIY in the 996 DIY maintenance area - check it out here.
  23. The price list shows it as a winter wheel set "complete" and all the other winter wheel sets have TPMS - so I assume this does too.
  24. Did you already have TPMS turned on in your car? Did you set the tire and wheel size in the NAV display?
  25. Try 3117 or 3115 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
