  2. my 987S06 also don't have it under the front hood.. and it never been replaced.. Then the delivering dealer failed to install it.
  3. 996.555.457.00.A10 Lid, black -- US MSRP $5.90 each
  4. A loose rear swaybar sounds like that too - so that would be the first thing I would check.
  5. :welcome: Give our search a try next time... http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?/forum/122-diy-articles-carrera-997-1-maintenance/
  6. P3081 Coolant temperature sensor function Possible fault causes - Open circuit, short circuit to B+ or short circuit to ground in sensor line to coolant temperature sensor - Open circuit in ground supply to coolant temperature sensor - Coolant temperature sensor faulty - Thermostat faulty (stuck open) - Tiptronic vehicles only: coolant shutoff valve open (mechanical fault, lack of vacuum…) - DME control module faulty I am not sure what actual values you can read on the Durametric for 997-1's - but I would look and see what the sensor values are to try to narrow down the problem.
  7. P1654 Coolant switch-over valve driver, above limit value Possible fault causes: - Short circuit to B+ in control line - Coolant switch-over valve faulty - DME control module faulty If you clear it does it come back?
  8. Bridge the clutch switch to be sure. And, you are sure your battery is good?
  9. The relays are all solid state these days - it would be usual. Did you check the clutch interlock switch?
  10. If it started before the bad ignition switch then either you have a blown fuse or a bad switch. Have you tried the old switch to verify.
  11. Put your amp meter in series with the battery and then pull one fuse at a time until you see the current draw drop. Once you do that you will at least know what circuit the draw is in. Get back to us when you find the circuit.
  12. Bumper cap 964.505.103.00.G2X Cap (unpainted) -- US MSRP $11.52 What color for the cab cover round cap? Is this the hard top cap you are asking for?
  13. What was the symptom before you changed the ignition switch?
  14. That is normal for cars that are not brought up to full operating temperature. It is caused by condensation.
  15. Try 2564 or 2562 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  16. Try 4996 or 4994 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  17. The whining sound the happens at start up for about two minutes is the secondary air pump - required for emissions. Perfectly normal.
  18. do you think its worth trying the whole air intake system by K&N? Thanks IMHO - no. It would make some difference on a turbo not much (if any) on a normally aspirated car.
  19. Why would you need to reset the DME? Just change the air box and take it in. If you have no CEL or pending codes then you should pass.
  20. Unless it is a GT3 RS the air cleaners are the same as earlier 997 GT3 and the 996 GT3.
  21. i got the SN from the display by holding TP until 'BECKER 1' shows up then i used the right dial. You can try the suggested varying the number I gave you by one or two each of the first code and see if you can find it. Just takes patience because of the time out after every three trys.
  22. Try 1424 or 1422 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
