  2. Sorry, there are no (measurable) performance gains from aftermarket exhausts for normally aspirated cars. Only turbos get much benefit from exhaust changes. Loren I have often been impressed with the quality and quantity of information you offer to all of us in these forums. You are a real asset and a valuable contributor who has helped many of us with a wide range of maintenance and other issues. I must admit surprise at seeing this categorical statement coming from you. I too am skeptical of many of the performance claims we see for bolt-on modifications. On the other hand, if there is no impact form exhaust modifications, why did Porsche change the header for X-51? Why do so many racers go unmuffled to reduce back pressure? Doesn't it similarly seem logical that 100 or 200 cell Cats are likely to pose less back pressure than standard Cats (supposedly 600 cell with more restriction)? Personaly, I struggle to believe the 20-30 HP claimed of some systems, but would stop short of a categorical statement that "... there are no (measureable) performance gains from aftermarket exhauats for normally aspirated cars..." That is just it - you will not get 20-30 HP from a bolt on aftermarket exhaust. Change the headers, the mufflers, the cats, air intake volume and tune the DME and you might get 20 HP. So I guess I define "measurable" differently than some folks - but the average person would hardly notice a 20 HP increase.
  3. Try 2943 or 2941 Neither of those worked. Any other numbers I should try? PLEASE read the FAQ.
  4. Try 2943 or 2941 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  5. I don't think so - as I said this is the same setup as the GT3.
  6. Check the Link menu item at the top of the page. Oklahoma Foreign and Silver Star have good reputations.
  7. It is likely the weatherstripping foam or even a leaf. Sometimes you can pick it out with a long handle forceps by removing the pollen filter and going in through the opening.
  8. Did you try a search... ;)
  9. The 235/40 x18 should not rub on the front as long as you are using factory offsets (40mm). That is exactly what the GT3 (narrow body) uses. A 245 WILL rub at lock on tight turns. A 295/30 x 18 would be better on the rear - that will just fit a 10" wheel. If you want the GT3 setup then you would go with an 11" rear with offset 63 mm (same size tire).
  10. Please read the FAQ to see how to display the real serial number... then post back here. Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  11. check the rear swaybar mounts for tightness.
  12. I think it should be 996.612.070.30 Wiring harness -- US MSRP $294.64
  13. Try 2729 or 2727 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  14. Use only MAF sensor cleaner - some folks have had worse problems with "other" cleaners.
  15. Well, at this point you likely need to put the Durametric software, a PST2 or PIWIS tester on the car and find out what is going on.
  16. Try 7809 or 7807 Thanks Loren for the fast reply! quick question but it still wait now PLEASE READ THE FAQ - that is explained in the FAQ.
  17. Try 7809 or 7807 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  18. Yellow/Violet and Brown are the wires on the switch. Connect them together to bypass the switch.
  19. Contributing Members here can view any and all TSBs.
  20. Probably a sticking damper/flap. Either motor is weak or there is weatherstripping stuck in the flap.
  21. The Retail Parts Price Search feature (for our Contributing Members) has been updated to reflect March 2010 retail pricing for the US. We try to update this on a monthly basis as the price lists come available to us. For March 2010 the parts price list support: US: 241,592 parts Thanks again to Contributing Member Porschelibrarian!
  22. :welcome: Please give our Search a try next time as this has been discussed many times. Two most common problems: bad brakes light switch - check your brake lights, if they do not come on when the brake is pressed then that is likely your problem. bad MAF - a bad Mass Air Flow sensor (or disconnected one) will also cause this. If it is neither one of those then you will likely need a scan tool like the Durametric software, a Porsche PST2, or Porsche PIWIS tester to examine the ABS and PSM faults.
  23. Did anyone bypass the clutch switch as RFM suggested?
