  1. In most cases you will need to open the engine cover and grant them access. Or, they will charge you if they have to remove the cover (at least most Smog check shops here do).
  2. What about a RennTech fan page on Facebook (for all the social crap that doesn't really belong here)? RennTech.org on Facebook
  3. Just to be sure I would also check fuse E6 to see if it is blown.
  4. Thanks Geoff! This Topic Hover Preview was a 3rd party addon and although I thought it would perform well it had some unseen weaknesses - like the large result searches. The forum software company is adding a preview function into their next release (likely in the next few months) so I think we might just wait for that release. Other new features will include: - a complete search overhaul - more profile customization - topic preview - sharing links via Twitter and Facebook - inline notifications (emails, subscribed articles, etc.) and more... I'll post more details as we get closer to the next version.
  5. Give some more drive time - numerous starts and stops are required to verify the problem has been corrected.
  6. 1. There are TSBs on this: 8/04 5730 Wind Noise In The Upper Area Of The Front Door Window -- dated Oct 11, 2004 8/05 6440 Whistling Noise From Door Window Area -- dated Jul 1, 2005 2. Have you checked your options list? Please tell us which sound options you have.
  7. :welcome: MY2005 Boxster(s)
  8. I have turned off Topic Hover Preview as it was causing a server overload on searches where there were 100's of thousands of results. It was trying to preview them all. I am sure that this problem can be fixed and we will bring back Topic Hover Preview - in the near future. Thanks for your patience.
  9. Try 8192 or 8190 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  10. Yes, if the problem is corrected (or does re-occur with a period of time) - it will clear the CEL.
  11. I sent you a PM...
  12. This fault is for the steering wheel airbag. If you have recently had the steering wheel off or the airbag off it is possible that it is not connected, or perhaps there is a worn wire. If you decide to check this yourself disconnect the battery and realize that airbag can still go off (with no power). Your dealer has a special test box that they put in place of the airbag and then they test the firing circuit (and wiring) with a PST2 or PIWIS tester. If the circuits tests okay - then you replace the airbag. Otherwise you repair the wire, control box, etc.
  13. It can not be set (or reset with the computer). You have to fool it with a resister (100 ohm as I recall).
  14. That part (997.722.801.00) is the mount for the jack tool. It goes in the foam mount.
  15. Check you coolant tank cap or just replace it.
  16. As I recall the GT2 has even larger openings in the wheel well cover - who wants to pay over $200 for each wheel well cover (partial) to try it out?
  17. Please see the FAQ to verify the serial number through the front panel of the radio. Then confirm it here. Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  18. 285 or 295 is the tread width. Yes, offset is important - perhaps if you state the wheels offset someone can suggest a workable solution.
  19. Talk to Gert Carnewal at Carnewal.com. He is in Belgium but he can get Porsche parts at a reduced priced. Be sure to tell him RennTech.org sent you.
  20. I do not now the difference but PET says to use: 986.615.103.00 Interval Relay -- US MSRP $56.10 (It is $13 cheaper than the 996 part)
  21. Any good high temperature anti-seize paste will do. Permatex is one brand that comes to mind - most auto parts stores have this.
