  1. If the battery was disconnected then the engine ECU needs to re-learn it adaption program. This usually takes 5- 20 minutes of driving.
  2. Please post this in the proper thread. Please read this and follow the instructions... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST I will only answer radio code requests in the one thread linked at the end of the FAQ. This thread is now closed.
  3. 3.4 liter Engine Parts Locations
  4. Try 9156 or 9154 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  5. Try 5554 or 5552 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  6. Thank you and sorry to hear about your new transmission. Tipronic gets a light weight ATF fluid ( a redish pink in color). The final drive (differential) in the Tiptronic cars gets 75W-90 gear oil in the final drive (the same as manual transmissions) and looks amber in color. How long ago was the Tiptronic rebuilt? Did they forget to refill the differential?
  7. The 997-1 'S' cars use the same spark plug. 999.170.223.90 Spark Plug FGR 5KQE0 Procedure is the same as the 996 series.
  8. Look for a missing plate under the drivers and passenger seat - near the seat frames.
  9. Covered many many times here... – Incorrect signal from MAF sensor – Intake air system leaking – Fuel pressure too low – Volume supply of fuel pump too low – Fuel injectors fouled – Exhaust system leaking Likely causes are air leaks - like AOS, AOS bellows, oil filler cap, or disconnected /loose intake hoses. Could also be a bad MAF but that is easy to check with Durametric - just look at the MAF voltage at idle and see if it increases with RPM. If it doesn't then it is bad.
  10. I think these squeaks are likely suspension mounting points not ball joints.
  11. Sorry, can't help you. The program only supports CR-210,CR-220, CDR-220.
  12. Try 3601 or 3599 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  13. Talk to your local dealer (always go this route first) and ask them to look it up and tell you the info. Most will. They will not (in most cases) tell you anything else - like previous owners private info.
  14. The new engine would have whatever updates were available when it was built in 2006. It could (and likely does) have the IMS update. It should have a two year warranty from install date and the Porsche service database should be able to tell you exactly when it was installed.
  15. As Richard said - 616 in the serial number would signify a 2006 engine (which is likely a good thing). M96/25 is a a 2.7 liter motor AT means exchange - but could be factory new built (for the exchange program). Engines that are rebuilt from old engines (with new parts) are usually AX, BX, CX, DX, etc.
  16. Try 4142 or 4140 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  17. I think the latest 997 RMS seal is fine. But I would not touch it if it is dry - too many bad seal installs cause RMS leaks rather than avoiding them. Check everything you can see flywheel surface, throw-out bearing, IMS seal. Again if the IMS seal is dry I would leave it alone too. Consider Rector Porsche in Burlingame - Peter Smith is the shop foreman there and has over 20 years Porsche experience. Otherwise consider RMG Enterprises in Sunnyvale - Dan, Dan or Bob are all very experienced (yes, two Dans).
  18. Try 1226 or 1224 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  19. P0171 Oxygen Sensing Adaptation, Idle Range, Bank 1 – Above Limit Possible fault cause: - Incorrect signal from MAF sensor - Intake air system leaking - Fuel pressure too low - Volume supply of fuel pump too low - Fuel injectors fouled - PCV valve leaks - Cap of oil filler neck not closed correctly or seal is damaged Check the oil filler cap first as this common when someone puts it on crooked or loses the o-ring.
  20. Well either way the turbo cooler is the way to go (IMHO).
  21. As long as the CEL is NOT flashing you can drive it. You will need to judge the "drive-ability".
  22. I'm not sure about RoW cars - as far as I know all US cars had the J loop cooler. Was your car originally a US car? Here is a link to book article on the upgrade - I did not do the electric fan part - just the turbo cooler. http://books.google....ved=0CAgQ6AEwAQ
