  1. I don't think you need to remove the hub (that is a big job). Just remove the rotor and you should have access to the back plate. Remove brake disc after unscrewing the fastening screw. If necessary, remove the brake disc by hitting it gently with a rubber hammer.
  2. There is no gasket - it uses the sealant Drei Bond silicone - Type 1209 and Loctite 5900. Problem is to do it right - - the cover (which is really the camshaft cover) needs to come off and be cleaned - to remove the camshaft cover you need to hold the cams in place A coupe folks here have made their own camshaft holding tools. Porsche book time is 4 hours - per cam cover.
  3. You can pre-order Wayne's book 101 Projects for Your Porsche Boxster and Renntech.org will get a small percentage... if you use this link.
  4. Try 4441 or 4439 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  5. Look for loose or corroded connections on the oil pressure sensor (covered here many times before). most likely the worse case you will need to replace the sensor.
  6. Yes, the older version was a different author -he has since decided not to continue updating or supporting his script. The new version (written by someone else) is getting to the level of the old software with the next release - which is just about to go into beta. If the beta is good enough we will give it a try here. I too miss some of the old version's features... :(
  7. There are two fuses - on the main fuse panel and one on the back of the radio.
  8. I would stick with the OEM plugs - they work fine in every circumstance I have seen.
  9. PIWIS and PIWIS II are leased from Porsche (not sold like the PST2 was) - so you will never see a legal one on eBay.
  10. Tonneau cover and backing on roll bars removed.
  11. I8DQ = Basic radio/PCM terminal, USA, double-DIN colour display IE0A = no listing in the database IH9K = no listing in the database IQG0 = no listing in the database IX7F = no listing in the database I sent you your full listing in PM.
  12. PM me your VIN and I will see what we come up with. (note - we do this only for Contributing Members)
  13. ... or it is cross threaded and not on straight.
  14. Try 1474 or 1472 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  15. Sorry, should be fixed now. The next release of the Registry software should make this task easier.
  16. Early cars all had two batteries then they changed and put a BOSE woofer in back. I doubt they disconnected anything - either they left something on in the car and/or ran the battery down. Best to have the battery tested for load and specific gravity. If that is the original battery it is due any way.
  17. :welcome: It looks very straight forward. Filter canister - like most Porsches. Replace the cartridge in the cansister and the o-ring. One drain plug on the sump - use a new sealing ring. 948.107.222.00 Filter -- US MSRP $16.13 948.107.322.00 O-ring -- US MSRP $6.60 900.123.106.30 Drain plug sealing ring -- US MSRP $0.87
  18. Not odd - many radios were replaced for 'peeling buttons' early on. Mine was the same - sometimes they forgot to give the customer the new card and sometimes the owner lost it. Try 2637 or 2635 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  19. Go to Images and Edit image.
  20. Try 4450 or 4448 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST niether code worked, any others i could try? tai PLEASE read the FAQ.
