  1. On the relay bracket above the fuse block.
  2. We have added in a Reputation system here on RennTech.org. The idea behind a reputation system is the when someone is particularly helpful - you give them a vote. This vote increase their "reputation" for providing good solutions. You do this on a post by post basis. These votes get tallied and can be viewed in the members profile or mini profile. When a thread get enough positive votes it get denoted with a star. This can be a very useful tool to reward those folks that are very helpful here and to also know answers you can trust. As with any system like this - there can be abuse. If there is none - great we leave it 'on'. If there is abuse - then we will simply turn it 'off'. I hope this is a useful tool to thank and reward those valuable members that give quality and accurate help here. Enjoy...
  3. One beep means a zone is open - two beeps mean there is an alarm fault. I think it is worth rechecking the previous work.
  4. Try 4129 or 4127 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  5. Fuse C3 -- 15A -- CU ALARM, CL POWER WINDOW, SUN ROOF, CU POWER TOP, INSIDE LIGHT You may need to eliminate each other possibility.
  6. I would still put a PIWIS tester on it - I think it is something other than that sensor. It really sounds odd with the other lights on and PSM in diagnostic mode etc. Driving will depend on how it is running - if you want to be safe have it transported.
  7. Time to put either the Durametric software or a PIWIS tester on the car.
  8. 955.542.462.04 Windows regulator (right) front -- US MSRP $92.49 Pretty much the same as the sports cars - remove the door panel R&R the regulator.
  9. Did you check the motor mounts?
  10. It can happen..I am on number 4. I have only replaced the switch in lieu of the entire mechanism that is supposedly the fix. I will do it the proper way next time Interesting, I think only one part of the switch on mine was replaced (two times now). The dealer implied it might be driver error suggesting the clutch might not have been fully depressed. That isn't the case and in looking at the assembly it appears to me the switch is under the dash and contact is lost with the pedal being depresses only an inch or so. The dealer said the switch is on the firewall and the pedal would have to go all the way. That doesn't seem to be the case per my visual inspection. Can anyone confirm for me? Simple test - take a jumper wire and bypass the clutch switch. Just be careful you don't try to start in gear!
  11. Try 1065 or 1063 Thanks for the fast response. The codes I entered didn't work (1065 or 1063). At the enter code prompt all I should do is enter the 4 digit number 1 time or am I doing the procedure wrong? I did try to enter 1065 then the enter code prompt came back and I entered 1063 and the enter code prompt came back again and I entered 1065. The WAIT message appeared after 3 attempts to enter the code. Thanks again, Bosco Did you read the FAQ? Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  12. You car's build date is on the sticker on the drivers door sill. It will give month and year. The engine serial number will not give much info other than the sequence will verify that it is from the same model year - not much more.
  13. If you run the VINs in Porsche system it says:
  14. Sounds like a ground problem or corrosion in the bulb socket.
  15. Try 8373 or 8371 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  16. 911.095.933.20.M8W Macadamia Metallic Touch Up -- US MSRP $19.12
  17. Take the cap (16) off each wiper arm base - adjust and tighten any that are loose (4). Take the cowling cover off the drivers side from inside front trunk. Then you will see the mechanical arm that connects the two wipers to the wiper motor. Adjust and tighten anything that is loose.
  18. Just so I am clear, this ground is located where? Also was the ground permanently detached or was it detached and then reattached? I have the same issue with the pixelation on my multifunction display, but would like to be certain of the procedure to follow. He is just talking about disconnecting the negative lead from the battery for a few seconds then reconnecting it.
  19. Hard to tell the size without a reference. Most Porsche parts have a part number on them.
  20. This is everything in OBD II manual for P2281
  21. On a 3.4 liter I would add 9 US quarts (8.5 liters). Run it a little, shut down, wait, check the dipstick. A 3.6 liter actually get less - 8.7 US quarts (8.25 liters.
  22. yeah, sorry grabbed the wrong image. I have corrected it now.
  23. PCM 1 hardware and PCM 2.x hardware are completely different - if that is what you are asking. PCM 1 firmware can only be upgraded to the level shown in the table. PCM 1 is no longer supported by Porsche. Most folks with PCM 1 take it out and put in one of the excellent after market systems. Do a search here as several members have documented their upgrades.
  24. :welcome: Did you see the pinned thread at the top of the 996 section? PCM/PCM2 Software Revisions
