  1. Try 7059 or 7057 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST Hi Loren, Tried those two codes without any luck. Any other ones I could try?? PLEASE read the FAQ.
  2. Try 7059 or 7057 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  3. This would be a last resort - I would try again with two people and try to shift the hood slightly left and right to release.
  4. Where did you get the PST2? Some clone PST2's I've seen do not have all the wires in the cables. Make sure the battery tender is on the car and the AC adapter is on the computer. The PST2 will check to see that proper voltages are present (so you don't brick the DME).
  5. "Displaying the on-board computer functions in display “C” Push the control stalk up or down. (The menu field “D” must be deactivated.) ─ Outside temperature (°C) ─ Average speed ( ∅ km/h ) ─ Average consumption ( ∅ l/100km ) ─ Range (km) ─ Boost pressure (bar) The above functions can be called up in sequence."
  6. US MSRP on an ABS module is over $3200 so please be sure before you replace it.
  7. For your car the following part numbers will work: 986.355.955.41 986.355.955.42 986.355.955.44
  8. Sorry to hear that. P1601 CAN timeout instrument cluster - signal implausible P1601 CAN timeout instrument cluster - open circuit Possible fault causes: - Wiring harness faulty - Plug on instrument cluster not connected - Instrument cluster faulty Note: - If all CAN bus faults are stored, there must be a short circuit in the CAN bus wiring. - If one CAN bus fault is stored, the cruise control system is out of order. - CAN bus faults may be caused by a control module reset. The fault is then indicated as "Not present".
  9. :welcome: Nothing to worry about. As long as it was caused by stepping on the gas the rev limiter will protect the engine. It is when you make a bad downshift (i.e. 4th to 2nd) that can force over revs that the rev limiter can not protect against and could cause engine damage. Likewise with a spin - always put the clutch in first thing in any spin.
  10. Hi Loren, I've got an '06 Cayman S that's thrown the P0421 code for the second time. My mechanic friend just cleared it the first time, and now I'm wondering what to do. I've owned the car for six months, first issue with it. I've searched the forums here and seen a couple of your responses on this issue. Can you confirm that the P0421 code (i.e., NOT the P0431 code) means possible fault causes: - Catalytic converter faulty (pre-catalytic conversion rate too low) - Oxygen sensors in front of and behind catalytic converter swapped (position in exhaust assembly) Also, can you offer me some guidance about whether I should have my mechanic start with investigating/replacing the oxygen sensors (I tend to doubt their position is swapped or this issue would have been occurring before, right?) or just go ahead & replace the catalytic converter (since it seems that this is a known issue with the MY06 Cayman S)? Ideally the work would be under warranty as I'm good through Oct '10 thru Porsche plus I bought an extended warranty :). Cheers, Liz Erasing the fault does not fix anything. There are tests that can be preformed to see if the cat is functioning as it should be. He should run those tests. If the cat passes then replace the sensor.
  11. :welcome: If you are getting two beeps when locking then there is an alarm fault. You will need to read the alarm system faults with either the Durametric software, a PST2, or PIWIS tester and report the fault(s) back here. Everything else is just a guess without the alarm faults.
  12. I think you are out of luck - since many of the CAN signals the later cluster uses will not be present on your car.
  13. How the heck do you get to that area to work on it? Most of what you need to know is covered in this DIY Tutorial - http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?/tutorials/article/45-replacing-the-gasfuel-door-actuator/
  14. I think you start by reading the fault codes.
  15. :welcome: Yes, that is correct. If you do a search here for "OBC Hack" you will find a number of discussions about it.
  16. You need to find where it is coming from - but most likely are RMS or IMS let go.
  17. Not sure what you want someone to say... it is well documented in TSBs that Porsche does not recommend 18" wheels on MY1997 Boxsters.
  18. Try 4780 or 4778 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  19. I sent you a PM.
  20. As I recall... For MY2003: 1. Make sure the car's order type is properly set in the DME (see other posts about that here). 2. Turn on the OBC in the cluster.
  21. If you look at the PST2 manual (here) - page 25 and 26. It will show you part numbers for all of the parts and accessories.
  22. The Retail Parts Price Search feature (for our Contributing Members) has been updated to reflect July 2010 retail pricing for the US. Yes, this one is a little late. We try to update this on a monthly basis as the price lists come available to us. For July 2010 the parts price list support: US: 246,569 parts Thanks again to Contributing Member Porschelibrarian! Edit - there was an error in the price list which has now been corrected. Sorry for any inconvenience.
  23. Just get the aerokit harness for a cabriolet (not coupe).
  24. Try 1004 or 1002 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
