  1. Per the Porsche TSB "Summer Wheels and Tires" (which you could read if you were a Contributing Member ;) ) the widest tire on an 18" rear wheel is 265 x 35. Rear offset can be 52 mm on a 9" wide wheel or 47 mm on a 10" wide wheel (with a special clip to move the parking brake cable over). I'll correct what I said previously... technically you could make those wheels fit with some adjustment of the parking brake cables. We are taking a tight fit and no snow chains etc.
  2. Try 0846 or 0844 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  3. Those wheels are for a widebody 996 (i.e. C4S). The fronts would fit but the offset for the rears is wrong for your car.
  4. Likely pads. Did you install the last pads or previous owner? Could be track pads or could they did not put new vibration dampeners in. I would do new pads, dampeners, and check out the brake rotors too.
  5. I can wash my Carrera - drive around the block to dry the brakes - and have little black specks on the back of the car. And, I am sure it is not oil.So if you are not losing any oil it pretty much has to be tire compound.
  6. It is simple to with a voltmeter - either there is voltage there or not. If one light works and other does not then I doubt it is the control module.
  7. More likely debris from your tires. All these soft compound tires produce tire dust.
  8. Good advice!
  9. Check for corrosion on the socket and/or connectors. A fairly common problem.
  10. Down on the fuse cover - all 996's have it.
  11. It should fit.
  12. I would say rare - I would replace only the one with the fault code.
  13. Try 9600 or 9598 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  14. 68X signifies a 1999 C4 3.4 liter engine.
  15. Thanks Richard for the pic, But is that the drivers side? That would depend on whether you have a LHD car or RHD car. Being in the UK Richard's car is RHD - so his drivers side is the right side. In the US we get LHD so the drivers side is the left side. The engine number is on the left side of the car on both LHD and RHD
  16. What kind of wing is that? Factory Aerokit rear wing.
  17. 999.113.347.40 Axle shaft sealing ring 48 x 68 x 10 -- US MSRP $26.4 Removing sealing ring for halfshaft flange Note: Protect drive shafts from damage. (Use 30 mm piece of hose) 1. Uncouple drive shaft on the transmission side. 2. Unscrew fastening screw for the halfshaft flange, unclip the B+ cable on the air flange and pull out the halfshaft flange. 3. Lever out sealing ring using a suitable tool. Installing sealing ring for halfshaft flange 1. Fill the space between the dust and sealing lips with grease (e.g. Liqui−Moly) and drive in the sealing ring up to the mounting face with special tool pressure piece 9252 . 2. Push in the halfshaft flange and tighten the fastening screw. Tightening torque: 32 ftlbs. 3. Clip the B+ cable onto the air flange and mount the drive shaft. Tightening torque: 60 ftlbs.
  18. Just (carefully) move what you need to to see the wiring.
  19. :welcome: There are four camshafts in a 997TT and you will need special tools for holding them during dis assembly as well as re-timing the camshafts when you are done. Not a job for the inexperienced. What are you trying to fix/upgrade?
  20. The DME is behind a carpet panel behind the rear seats. There is nothing serviceable in the DME. If it needs to be replaced (unlikely IMHO) then you would need a PST oe PIWIS tester to transfer the IPAS codes. Have you checked the fuel injector electrical plug - and then follow the wiring back to the harness looking for damage If it is good shape then replace the fuel injector. If this is the only fault code(s) you have then the problem is in the injector or circuit at the injector
  21. Do you think it is item 11 or item 12? To get the correct part number I will need you to PM me your VIN.
