  1. There are two fiber optic connectors on the back of the PCM. H1 is fiber optic signals IN H2 is fiber optic signals OUT Where the cables go will depend on the options in your car.
  2. Porsche does not recommend 19" wheels on the 996 series. Changing the wheel size does not affect ride height (when using Porsche spec wheels). What suspension do you now have? US standard?, US sport, ROW sport? or custom? And, are you using standard profile tires?
  3. Which parts are you trying to replace?
  4. The hose on top is a breather (vent) but I doubt that is the problem - it looks like the oil cooler itself is leaking.
  5. The latest part number for all MY2005 and 2006 987-1 is: 987.607.001.06 Engine Wiring Harness -- (are you sitting down) US MSRP $1289.33  plus install labor.
  6. :welcome: Please give our Search a try next time... http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?/topic/3131-ac-side-air-vent-removal/page__view__findpost__p__14785
  7. Basically just feel for it. Should be straight behind the seat about 2/3 of the way back.
  8. Try 3030 or 3028 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  9. :welcome: That is your oil cooler and it looks like you have a leak.
  10. The Tiptronic goes into Limp Mode when there is a problem that could cause a safety issue or further damage to the car. There are about 25 different faults (as I recall) that can cause the Tiptronic to go into "Reduced Driving Program" aka Limp Mode. You need to have your car diagnosed with a Porsche PST2 or PIWIS tester.
  11. That is correct - if you do a search you will find a number of folks that have done aftermarket upgrades that are much better than the Porsche supplied units.
  12. You replied to a 3 year thread. Please start a new thread with your car model, year, and radio/sound system type. Then please state exact problem(s).
  13. Please do a search for those fault codes - they have been covered many times here....
  14. Ok - then just tell me which part you need and I will look up the part number for you.
  15. Check C10 and C8 for blown fuses - both should be 40 A. Test the relays (all 4 of them) and the two ballast resistors. Highly unlikely (IMHO) that the DME is the problem - besides you really don't want to spend $1700 for a DME - plus programming time.
  16. Item 1 or item 2?
  17. Porsche did not start publishing order guides in PDF format until MY2003. Previously only dealers/OPSs had access to them when you placed an order. So, someone would have had to obtain a copy from a dealer/OPC and scan it for the older models.
  18. That will depend on whether the damage is part of a sub-harness or the main car harness.<br style="font-size: 18px; line-height: 22.5px;">The main car harness could take a week or so replace. It is a lot of work. Hopefully you just need one of the sub-harnesses.
  19. There was a TSB to replace the early release arms because of problems. They really should have checked. I think your only action is to pull the transmission and have a look - something is not right.
  20. Sad to say this is not the first occurrence of rodent damage (they like the wires under the battery too).
  21. When the clutch disc is worn out the pedal gets firmer and the pedal engage height gets near the top.
  22. Still could have been a bad throw out bearing or one of the early MY1999 release arms. Did they check the release arm?
  23. Have a look at this thread... (all of it) http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?/topic/1512-sun-visor-mirror-return-springs/
  24. There is nothing wrong with MY99 - I own one too.
